She was caught in the act of Adultery with other men than her husband. If two people marry, that have Never been married before, they have become one in the sight of God, right, One flesh. Now, if that couple divorced, they both, "set themselves up to commit adultery", when they re-marry another or have a relationship outside (Their Marriage Bond....) They are Bound by God until one of them dies. What God hath joined together, let No Man put asunder. The sin was not the marriage to the first husband, so what is to be forgiven? God forgives me so I can marry again? Are we going to live our lives as the woman at the well, in sin? God forbid!! Fornication is the only true out for remarriage. Let's say I marry a woman who has a living husband, even though they are divorced, she is not, nor will ever be my wife according to God and Jesus. In this case I would be committing Fornication with her, she would be committing Adultery with me. "She has a living husband" and I don't have a living wife. Matthew 19:3-9 Self explanation...
