In Genesis 2 God says not to eat from tree of knowledge or they would die. Later, when they do eat the fruit, they do not die. We know God is truth. So why did he say they would die?
seems as though there inocence suffered/died because there eyes were open to things before not realized, purity died and all of a sudden oh oh i,m naked. death comes sometimes without lose of breathe
They died spiritually. Became like us; mortal. Adam lost the closeness that he had once. It's really tender how God made them clothing to take away their fig leaves. He covered them. God felt that pain of separation too. But looking way down through history, He saw His son dying and taking away the sins of mankind on his own body.
When we do sinful things: that pain we feel has to be taken to the Cross; so we can be restored.
Times in the past, I'd think, "well God has me covered, no big hurry to hit my knees."
But I learned by the silence from God, that I would do anything to restore the fellowship that bathed my soul in Light.
Yes, An eternal soul in knowledge of a once known relationship with the Creator without light in eternal darkness without hope is hard to grasp. God in mercy as he clothed Adam and Eve in the hope of His Son who was at the beginning of Creation made a way of escape by the grace of Love.
Adam and Even didn't die? So, do you think they're still alive? Of course they died. They were immortal then after eating the fruit they became mortal and Adam died when he was 930 years old. The Bible didn't specify WHEN he would die, but he died just as God said. So, any assumption as to a timeframe is made up and not in the Bible, as the Bible never said it would be in 5 seconds, 5 minutes, hours, days, or even years. Even characters in the Bible themselves have endured huge patience in waiting on God like Abraham and Sarah. But God did exactly as he said. It just isn't necessarily within man's own arbitrary expectations of when they want things to happen.

Darkness hurts.
Amen.
