But LAY UP for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
2 Corinthians 12:14
Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to LAY UP for the parents, but the parents for the children.

I think this is clearly showing us that material possessions and financial is not really going to bless your kids.
It's the spiritual blessings we impart to them, from early childhood to adulthood that make for an eternal impartation.
I read short Psalms or Proverbs to my 7yr old grandson now; and I did it when he was much younger too. He received Jesus as his Savior over a year ago. I will never stop praying for him or his parents. That's the gold and silver that you leave for your kids.
Once they connect to peers and the world, they need our prayers more than ever. All through The Moses and Joshua years, it's commanded that they teach the history and the blessings To the children. Parents :) teaching their kids. They are your treasure.
Thanks Im 71 and my child 52 and I've tried to explain to her it means spiritual not monetary but she keeps saying that parents should lay up treasures for their children She is a Christian by seems she just can't accept this concept I agree it's talking about Spiritual Thanks for your comment
