I know God is moving me forward and directing my walk with him to the next level in our relationship but how do I know when I am following his plan correctly?

Joy. Peace in the Holy Spirit. Anticipation for what is next. Falling more in love With Our Savior and Lord. Don't allow you happiness be diminished in that.

Peace, Joy and Happy anticipation for what is Next. Don't let anyone or any thing dampen what you are learning about the Lord.

    Philippians Chapter 3

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] ONE THING I DO, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I PRESS toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

This question you ask is probably what Elijah was asking himself when God took him to heaven in a whirlwind! The fact that you are asking yourself this question , is evidence that you are doing his will. We live we move we have being in him. Our ways are not his ways . Worship Him and he will guide your path. Let the spirit of God abide you, pray always and acknowledge him in all thy ways!
