First of all, the Scripture says "anything without faith is sin!" And "a little leaven leavens the whole lump"! So how can we be "faith full" if we are still "sin full"?????? We were sinners, Jesus took away all our sin, we became 'born again'! What changed? We are supposed to be "NEW"! How can we be "NEW" if we are still old sinners?
Sinning after Salvation How to Conquer it - In Reply on Romans 8:16 - 4 years ago
Very simply, it takes mountain size FAITH in the finished work of Christ Jesus on the Cross. He didn't leave anything undone or over-looked.
After we believe and accept the Gift of forgiveness; we take steps to work out our salvation, with joy: also fear and trembling.
Satan doesn't want us to Feel Free. He comes immediately to ACCUSE us of sins past, present and next week. It'll keep happening until our faith in Jesus gets up off the floor and counters satan With Our Newborn FAITH in the finished work of Jesus. Satan always tempts us to listen to voices that accuse it wasn't enough. We even accuse ourselves! That is the flesh. It is NOT faith. fAITH stands up and screams, "I am the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus."
Isaiah Chapter 1
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; CEASE to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
Many people are easily confused (satan is the Author of Confusion), because as newborn Christians we still act sinful, Until we begin to absorb into our spirit, the Bible truths. The Life of Jesus. His shed blood over all of our sins: past, present, future.
When sin happens, repent from the heart, and forgive yourself. Don't give up. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you; warn you when you are getting off course. Obey His promptings.
Study the strength and wisdom of Jesus through the Gospels. He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation). He is your faith.
Do you believe Jesus took away your sin? All your sin? If so...how can you still be a sinner? Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin...cannot sin! Sin is all unrighteousness. How can we serve two masters?
8 And when HE is come, HE will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
COMMENT:
It is not your job to attempt to do the Holy Spirits job for Him. He's the only one who can operate on a human heart.
Psalm 23: the shepherd's staff is to guide the sheep. Pull them away from danger. He carries the lambs in his arms. At no time does he use the staff to beat a sheep into condemnation. ITS the Holy Spirits WORK to watch over and perfect the New Birth. We don't all get it perfect on day one.
You could learn alot from Chris's style of Teaching. It does not cause a stampede. Painstaking, reasonable, patient, truth.
Your condemnation of people who are not perfect like you think you are, shows that you are a hireling.
My belief in relieving the suffering of others comes from what Jesus taught, and showed us about humility. (Beatitudes)
It's only a loss of rewards at the Bema Seat judgment of Christ.
I pray with people in the Prayer Request Room because people need to hear God loves them and is ready to meet their Needs.
I begin my prayer with the Prayer of Agreement:
"19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
Faith is Action. It does something. It changes us. It changes people we pray for.
Sometimes I hear back from people who were healed. It boosts my desire to bring Jesus to his lambs and hurting sheep.
Adam and Eve were spiritually connected to God. They knew the rules. Yet they ate the fruit (disobeyed), and lost that spiritual connection. They sinned.
If the Holy Spirit taps my shoulder, I listen up real quick.
The faithful servant in these portions is not given a name as Jesus wanted to highlight the Truth associated with the behaviour. As a servant, by definition, is one who serves, Jesus showed in both these illustrations that the "faithful servant" is one who behaves & works as his master intends.
In the first Matthew reference, Jesus commends the servant for faithfully looking after his master's house, providing necessary food for others working there as they needed, while he was away. In the second reference, two servants were commended for faithfully & wisely dealing with their master's finances so as to produce an increase in the principal amount given.
The message in both accounts speaks of the level of trustworthiness & busyness of the Lord's servants (His children) so that whenever He comes for us, or we should unexpectedly pass through the vale of death, we shall be commended for our faith & work for His Glory rather than being the unprepared, lazy sluggard who is not watching or being careless in his Christian walk.
