I need a good Bible one that gives you some understanding of the word.

I read the KJV..lot of times I don't understand it.

    Can you recommend a good

    one that has maybe even

    different versions.

May I suggest that you try reading the Bible (maybe some book/chapter that you find difficult understanding) in a few different online versions first. In that way, you can get a feel as to how verses are expressed in a manner that you are comfortable with. However, you should be aware, that in many cases, translators who give a very modern rendering of the original (good) texts have departed from the original meaning & sometimes even left verses (or, portions of verses) out altogether.

I think there are several websites that offer this, but I would recommend 'Biblehub' that lists a number of versions that you can peruse. As well, there are helps there (Commentaries) if you find something difficult to understand. Also, if you're looking to get a 'hard copy' of a Bible, I would suggest a good Study Bible with Maps, basic Concordance, Harmony of the Gospels, understanding the main Doctrines, etc., be included. My preference for many years has been the Ryrie Study Bible (KJV), its notes written by Charles C. Ryrie from Dallas Theo. Seminary, is a very fundamental, true to the spirit of the Word type of Study Bible with the above inclusions. It's produced in other versions aside from the KJV.

Both the New KJV & New American Standard Version are also accepted as being most accurate after the KJV, but it's best if you read from a number of versions before deciding.

Diana - If you live to be a hundred and read every day you still want know it all. Paul wrote that now we see through a glass darkly but will see face to face. If you want to go to heaven it's very simple. You must be born again- John 3:16

Jesus said on these two hang ALL the law & prophets. Love the Lord with all your heart, love your neighbor as yourself and do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If you do those things you're understanding will lead you to the truth.
