When our hearts are touched and burdened like Nehemiah, and we don't know what to do to help, we can pray as he did. The Lord will open a way if it is his will and we are willing to step out of our comfort zone. Nehemiah risked things to admit his sorrow to the King, if the King didn't like his response he could have been killed. It's also interesting to note that in the worlds eyes Nehemiah had reached the top of the tree. The most honoured and trustworthy person was the wine taster, but God had a greater purpose for his life. Nehemiah was willing to leave the comfort of the palace to meet the needs of his suffering people even though he risked his own life and endured discomfort to do so, he was full of faith to do it because he knew God's calling was better. Jesus, burden the readers’ heart with what you have for them to do and may they be willing; let the gift of faith and the joy of your grace sustain them and give them victory!
