I have a question. When Jesus gave this last commandment (Matthew 2820), was this the last time the disciples saw Jesus? Is this what Jesus said as he ascended into heaven? Thank you
Jesus said a number of things at the last meeting that His disciples heard. The Evangelists chose to record what The Holy Spirit lead each to do.
See Mark 16:14-19.
See Luke 24:44-51 and Acts 1:3-8. Seems that Doctor Luke might have run out of scroll writing his Gospel and continued his account at the beginning of The Acts of The Apostles. Acts1:9-11 continues with The Ascension.
John recorded nothing related to this event.
So I'd assume that all these things were said by Jesus and that they saw Jesus ascend to The Father. "But some doubted." Matt 28:17.
