    Daren Croft,

Born again is to be filled with the Holy Spirit a act of God and God alone. Those who God choose from before the foundation of the world will receive it at different times in their lives. Some from in the whom like John the Baptist, some at birth, some in their teens, 20s, 30s and so on and some at the last day on this here earth like the thief on the cross. Jesus being God in the flesh do not need to be born again. God bless you.
  • Charles R Peek - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
"We must believe the Gospel for this age, (the age of Grace) to be born again is the Spirit of God. The New Testament say 241 times that you must believe to be saved. Jesus sent the Apostle Paul to the Gentiles; and gave him the Gospel to preach, and that is what you must believe to be born again of the Spirit of God.

HERE IS THAT GOSPEL: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" Question: Do you believe it?"

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Corinthians 4:3 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:" If you have a problem with these scriptures, It is with God for He wrote it, not me.
  • Darren Croft - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected. He is the 1st complete born again Christian.

Jesus didn't have to be baptized either, but he did to fulfill scripture.
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Jesus' Baptism is to show us how to be baptized by submersion. Not by sprinkling of water or any other means and it's not by baptism one is saved, it's by God's choosing before the world was created. God bless you
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
I've never heard this perspective before. Jesus is not a Christian. He is the Christ or Messiah. A Christian is a "Christ follower".

I would say the first born again Christians were the 11 Apostles after receiving the Holy Ghost.
  • Darren Croft - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
You are correct on the title of Christ, so I'll say Jesus set the example of being born again after death. This is how the dead rise in Christ to everlasting life.

To me "born again" is having the capabilities and mind of Christ. Having the Holy Spirit upon you, like the disciples, is one thing, but being permanently free from sin is another. The 11 disciples were sinners who enjoyed the Holy Spirit. They didn't stop sinning as I would come to expect after they succumb to a mortal death, then resurrected into everlasting life.

    Hi Darren Croft,

I would like to apologize to you for thinking you never post or reply to an salvation topic,

I stumbled on a thread where you gave great insight on the topic on several occasions, I never saw these!!

    Again I sincerely apologize.

I don't subscribe your version of "born again" souls that sin by default. I'm a Christian having the Holy Spirit, and when I'm resurrected into everlasting life, I will be born again, a brother of Jesus, no matter what you say.

The cup is squeaky clean on the outside, but the inside is putrid.
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
It's Holy Ghost filled before resurrection and not the other way round. And by the way, are you basing your resurrection on your acts of faith? If that's the case, then read the book of revelation carefully and see if the LORD will teach you how and who will be resurrected. God bless you

    Called by Paul's Gospel:

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Did you notice, you were chosen from the beginning, but you were called by Paul's Gospel? what Gospel were you called by?
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Paul don't own a gospel. Jesus gave Paul a work to spread the gospel. Those who respond to the gospel are the ones chosen by God but we will all see who really were chosen on the day of judgment. Be patient. Man don't like to wait, but with God, all things are done in His time.

That line you quoted by Paul is one of the things I explained earlier; that is, Paul sometimes injects some of his former religious practices in the gospel and it takes knowing God's word in depth to see it. God bless you

    Brother Vince,

This being another subject in this thread. About how some seem to think the epistles of Paul are of some greater value or more special than any of the other books in the Holy Bible.

The writings, epistles, of Paul are important and unique. Though there are many people that pick and choose verses to try and fit their own narrative or belief. Also done with other Scriptures as stated by Peter.

I just want to quote two statements from the second epistle of Peter. Which someone had bad mouthed and called them some dirty name like they are not prophecy from God.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Then Peter prophesying about people taking Paul's writings and twisting them. Which is happening before our eyes today.

    2 Peter 3:15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest(twist), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

    God Bless.

I appreciate these straight forward scriptures that provide insight and spiritual closure.

    It's blockbuster news.

Man like to claim that they are called, but God said no one comes to Him, He is the one who draw men to Him. He only draw the ones that He choose before creation. God bless you

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me ( John 14:6).
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Jesus also said, "those who the Father give to me, I will in no wise cast away " (paraphrase). It's clear here that Father God choose who He will give to go through Jesus. God bless you
  • Charles R Peek - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
So you don't believe the Bible, I kind of thought that might your problem. This is God's Word, the Bible: 2 Thessalonians 2:14 "Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." There it is God's Word. I think it time to worry, for God's Word says: 2 Corinthians 4:3 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:"
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Called by our gospel? Not God's gospel? Remember Paul was not always a follower of Christ Jesus. Paul at times invoke some of his previous religious practices on the basis of works for salvation. As I studied Paul's teachings, I see a few snares from his former religious practices. God allowed this so as to reinforce in us His words as opposed to man's words. This is to keep our attention on Him. I hope you get it. God bless you
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
    Hello Vince,

I very much liked this post of yours as I agree. As I enjoy the teachings of Paul there are a few "snares" as you called them. We should read the Word of the Lord, Holy Bible, as a whole and not think one prophet or apostle was better than the other. All unique members but of the one body of Christ. Be thankful for all of them.

One thing that was brought to my attention just recently. Paul stating in Galatians 5:14 "The law is fulfilled in one word, even this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self".

When the Lord was asked "which is the greatest commandment" in Matthew 22:36-40: Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Like you stated we should stay focused on the Lord and keep our attention on Him.

    God Bless.

Revelation 22:19 was published for a reason. Who is the god of this world?
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Only one can be first and only one can be last. So the first Christian was actually Steven who was stoned to death at Antioc. God bless you

Let me answer my question. The reason Adam did not die that same day is, as mentioned in 2 PETER 3:8, a day to God is like a thousand years. So, if Adam lived to 930 years, Adam was 70 years short of a full day. This is why man's life is between 70 and 120 years which is indicated by the death of 2 outstanding men in the Bible; namely King David and Moses. Incidentally, we match up with Adam, but guess who match up with Methuselah who lived to 969 years? I'll wait for your answer.

Sin in the garden separated all men from God.
  • Vincent - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
I am trusting you will look and see.
  • Vincent - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Thanks for responding but I think, actually I'm sure, the sin in the garden of Eden by Adam and Eve did not separate them from God, that will happen on the last day, but what really happened is a broken relationship between us and our God the one and only creater. Separation from God will be one time and one time only which is eternal death. Do you realize it's only 2 people God created? I'll wait for your response, God Bless

    Correction: the word creator
  • Lindascooks - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
God's word states that the soul that sinneth shall die.
  • Vincent - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
God here is referring to the day of judgment. The body can not live without the soul, but the soul can live without the body. Jesus said "do not fear them that can kill the body, but fear He who can kill both body and soul " I'm paraphrasing.

Which judgment are you speaking of? The judgment upon America, or the judgment of the Great White Thrown?
  • Vincent - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
    Daren Croft

Judgement day of the world. No one country will be judged by itself.
  • Darren Croft - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
Mystery Babylon America and the whole Babylonian system comes down at the day of the Lord ( Isaiah 47). America and her partner in crime Israel will both be taken at the abomination of desolation: America is taken at 3 pm EST (spoiler at noonday), and Israel is simultaneously invaded at 11 pm local time.

The 5th trumpet marked by 9-11-01 is almost past. Waiting on Rev 6:14, Rev 6:12 and Malachi 4:5 to show. Our visitation is practically at the door. Jesus thief with his iron and clay northern army will simultaneously turn both lands into a desolate wilderness. No, not even the mighty US will have the strength to save Israel from their fate ( Luke 21:20-24). Anti-christ will be sitting in the temple, claiming he's God. The only enemy in sight will be his own fractured beast army. The 6th trumpet is going to be the greatest show on earth.
  • Vince - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
And that show, as you put it, will be for those that are left here to be burnt with this earth which God cursed. God bless you

Hi Darren, I'm curious as to the source(s) of the information in your comments. If you wouldn't mind sharing. Thank you
  • Darren Croft - In Reply on Judges 7 - 3 years ago
In response, I gave you a full explanation so you would understand where I was coming from. However, my message didn't make the cut. Sort of like how a vile sinner gets tossed by the chief commander. A total and complete waste of energy. Perhaps not worth another entry.

I do appreciate the sacrifice of time and the effort to give such a response. Though I was not able to see the comment before deletion, thank you.
