    Rome, the beast of the sea, was dealt a mortal wound but didn't die, it was divided into two empires, western and eastern empire, harlot and false prophet, the western empire was falling, those two empires joined together to form the papacy, the beast of the Earth, the last roman emperor past on his power and authority to the pontiff. Also they past on their solar calendar, the image of the beast.
