Bible Discussion Thread

My girlfriend that is very dear to me, is lacking the ability to understand the word. She told me before that she is a Christian but she rarely takes the time out of her day to renew her mind. It would always be me telling her about what the word says in various occasions. I pray that she would be able to start getting the right understanding and mindset to know what to do in all situations. Everything thinking the way we should, which is by Gods word. She is going through a hard time with her family, getting abused and yelled at and she doesn't do anything about it. She always sits quiet and accepts whatever is thrown at her. I have been with her for just about 4 months and I tell her about certain things and how to react. (The right way from experience and the Word) It almost seems like I only say this stuff to help comfort her in the moment and she doesn't listen to what I say to the fullest extent. My wish would be that she can get the understanding she needs and to know how to protect herself, as well act the correct way in any situation that comes to hand. I just pray that she can have the courage and motivation to understand and read the word more so we don't have to deal with situations that make her think that she is better off spiritless. I feel as if she also is staying by things that are a bad influence to make her not continue on. This woman means so much to me and I pray that we can grow our faith together in this life.
