    Needing some clarification and scripture about women and their roles as ministers and pastors in the church.

    Also as deacons in the church.

    Lane newell... 1 Timothy 3:1-5 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

    2.A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

    3.Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

    4.One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

    5.(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    (A bishop is referring to elders who take on the role of teaching)

    (A deacon is a service person, taking care of the physical things in the church so that the elders can concentrate on the spiritual teaching)

    (A deaconess is the female version of a deacon)

    Seventh day is sabbath-?

    (A deaconess is the female version of a deacon) Where is this in the KJV Bible?

    D W L... There are examples in the Bible of women who helped the poor and sick (Dorcas, Phebe) just as today there are many women who are "missionary" minded and serve God by helping those who are less fortunate and teaching others about the love of God.

    There is not a text that specifically says that women are a female version of a deacon. If I have misled or caused confusion to you please forgive me that was not my intent.

    I think Joel 2:29 just about covers it. If you follow Jesus and Paul's ministries, you'll see that women followed Jesus and helped with various chores for the whole group. There was no dating. They all chose to follow.

    Yes I believe in Joel 2:29 and I also believe in these other scriptures.

    1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

    1 Timothy 3:12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
