  • Bro. Daniel FC on Ephesians 2 - 11 years ago
    @Walt,
    You say: “…gentiles were excluded from Moses covenant until the cross … The four gospels should be part of the Old Testament.” Let’s “zoom out” of Ephesians 2, and take a look at the whole Bible from “an eagle’s eye view”. The plan of salvation did not begin with the Jews; it was conceived before the foundation of the world 1 Peter 1:19. First, it was revealed to Adam and Eve after the fall Genesis 3:15. Then Enoch, Noah and Job preached it. Melchizedek, serving as the priest of the Most High preached it. And finally it was promised to Abraham, in whose seed all the nations would be blessed. The plan of salvation has different stages: It began in the Garden of Eden, continued until the Flood, then after the Flood with Noah and his family until Abraham. The Jewish Nation followed. God’s prophets continued to preach until Christ came, and He continued to preach “the Kingdom of God” until His ascension. After that, the Apostles followed including Paul. The plan of salvation included the whole world from the beginning. Though the shortest, the “Jewish period” period was the most important. But The Gospel of the Kingdom of God was the same from the beginning to “the end”, having at the center Jesus Christ, The Savior of the world. This is what Jesus was trying to explain to His people, when they wanted to kill Him: “Search the scriptures (the Old Testament); for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” John 5:39. On the road to Emmaus, “beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself” Luke 24: 27. Conclusion: You can’t separate The Old from The New Testament. It is just one message, one plan of salvation, one Christ.
