It seems that Romans 13:1-2 were used as a justification for slavery or tyranny. Was this justification correct or is it contradicted by other verses in the bible.

    Hi Tod.

I second what Brother Adam has said,

There is no excuse for slavery. but Romans 13. has nothing to do with slavery.

The Government is not perfect and neither are we, but they are ordained to keep law and order.

Romans 13:4. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Those in office have the same struggle in the flesh as we,

And we "ALL" know right from wrong.

John 1:9. That was the true Light, which lighteth "EVERY MAN" that cometh into the world.

It has always been like that and always will be until the prince of peace come.

    God bless.

Hello, that verse is unrelated to slavery, but is about rulers/government.
