    Hi Roy,

As all the replies in this thread are good. I came across this today. Enjoy. Philippians 1:21-23.

    God Bless.

Hello, I've heard that repeated a lot, but the Bible doesn't say that.

Paul said he would "rather" be absent from the body and with the Lord. It doesn't say in 100% of all cases, every time, that when someone is not alive that they are with the Lord. Big difference. I personally do not believe people go to the Lord upon death, but sleep until judgment day, based on scriptures I've read. God bless...

    2 Corinthians 5:8

    Hi brother Adam,

As you are free to have your beliefs as we all are. I myself believe us in Christ(our spirit/soul) go to be with the Lord, where He is, when we die. As I'm not here to argue with you, as said, you are free to have your beliefs as I am. All I'm going to do is leave a couple Scriptures that pertain our "spirit" does not sleep. 1 Corinthians 15:51. In Luke 16 about two different men being in two different places after death. Then in Luke 23:43 Jesus telling the one man who hung with Him that today "shalt thou be with Me in paradise".

Again I'm not here to change your mind or argue anything. As maybe some people do sleep till judgement. Though I believe us in Christ go to be with the Lord when our physical bodies are done. As we are His.

    God Bless you brother Adam.

Brother Richard, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

I BELIEVE; also, in Christ is THE LIFE, you never die. Contrary to this you die. The wages of sin (UNBELIEF) is death.

John 18:24 I say therefore unto you, you shall die in your sins: for if you BELIEVE NOT that I am HE (LIFE, WAY, TRUTH) you shall die in your sins.

John 6:50 This is the bread that cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof and NEVER DIE.

John 11:26 And whoever liveth and believeth IN ME shall never die.

Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Blessed are the dead (we are dead in our trespasses) which die IN THE LORD from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may REST (in Christ) from their labours; and their works (of Christ in you, LIFE) may follow them.

I BELIEVE there are two deaths: now in Christ or later in Christ (second death)

I BELIEVE there are two resurrection: now in Christ or later in Christ at the second resurrection.

I BELIEVE there are two judgements: now in Christ (spiritual FIRE) or later in Christ (spiritual FIRE) at the second resurrection and second death.

The word says the wicked want live out half their life (the ONLY life is CHRIST); we don't see this now so possibly it means they will lay in the grave for a long time, or judgement in Christ will be much longer than we go thru in our short lifetime or both.

God bless the WORKS OF CHRIST.

Thank you for your post brother Earl.

    Have a Blessed day!

    Richard in Christ,

I like your aim. I must tell you that all souls return to God, not Jesus.

( Ecclesiastes 12:7) Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

    It's another angle to consider.

    Hi Peter.

I believe that to be accurate,

    It seems to go with

2 Corinthians 5:8. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

    I think those verses and

1 Thessalonians 4:14-17. hinge on one another.

1 Thessalonians 4:14-17. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so

" THEM ALSO WHICH SLEEP IN JESUS WILL GOD ( BRING WITH HIM.)" I believe this is the spirit of those saints.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent THEM WHICH ARE ASLEEP.

" The bodies in the Graves."

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the " DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST":

I believe this is the bodies in the Graves mentioned in previous verse.

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with "THEM" in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In these verses it seems you have the spirit that fell asleep in Christ " coming with Christ ". and you have their bodies which sleep in the Graves risen to meet the Lord in the air. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with "THEM" in the clouds.

    GOD BLESS.

Brother Peter, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

In Genesis God says, let us make man in our IMAGE. This was not done at that time. At first creation man was created from dust and the breath of God. God gave Adam life through the BLOOD. When Christ came under the new covenant it became possible to be CREATED a second time, by SPIRIT and an immortal body (like Christ was given when he was born of the Spirit; the beginning of CREATION. This is what Christ has and will continue doing till all creation is in the IMAGE OF GOD.

Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the FULLNESS OF TIMES (AGES) he might gather together IN ONE ALL THINGS IN CHRIST; both which are in heaven (first resurrection) and on earth (second resurrection), EVEN IN HIM.

Who is (creating), and was (creating), and will be (creating).

The FIRST (of creation) and the LAST (of creation).

Psalms 104:30 Thou sendeth forth thy Spirit (Spirit was given a body at the beginning of creation), and they (first creation, flesh and blood) are CREATED (second creation, flesh and bone not blood but SPIRIT), and thou RENEWEST the face of the earth.

Psalms 104:29 Thou hideth thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to THEIR DUST.

Psalms 104:30 Thou SENDETH forth thy Spirit (CHRIST), they are CREATED, and thou renewest the face of the earth.

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that God has SENT the SON (THE WORD as in the above WORDS) to be the SAVIOUR of the world.

Man want keep the word of God from being FULFILLED.

    New heaven and new earth.

    Hi Peter,

I very much agree with you that all souls return to God. Who gave us our spirit as in Ecclesiastes 12:7.

Though as I believe Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God and on the Throne of God in Heaven. As Acts 7:55, Colossians 3:1-4, Hebrews 8:1, Revelation 3:21, Revelation 21:22-23, etc.

I believe I will see, and be with, Jesus Christ, God our Father, and our whole family in Heaven.

God Bless. Have a wonderful day!
