Are all sin equal with god(no large or small sins)
  • Jesse - In Reply on 1 Peter 1 - 3 years ago
    Gigi,

If I may add another perspective.

James 2:10 says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of the whole thing."

But look what it says in Verse 11. It says "For he that said." He didn't say for the scriptures say. It says for he that says, do not commit adultery, said also, do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if you should kill, you are become a transgressor of the law.

How does that work? The law represents the holiness of God, His complete holiness. Romans 3:20 says through the law we have the knowledge of sin.

If I keep the whole law, and yet I violate one law, I have sinned, and I'm less than who God is. Well, that's a no-brainer, right?

If I think I'm pretty good and I ought to get into heaven because I do pretty good things and I'm not that bad of a person, well, how do I stack-up to God?

Am I as holy as God is? Well, I wouldn't say that. But that's what a sinner is, somebody who has fallen short of the glory of God.

And so the commandments were representative of God's holiness. So if you broke one, you're a sinner, you've broken them all, because even one sin, you have fallen short of who God is. And that is how he shows us how sinful we are and what sin is.

So the emphasis is on the person, not the law. The same person that says thou shalt not commit adultery, also said thou shalt not kill. And if you do one of those things, then you have violated the one who gave the law.

When we sin, we have sinned against the law giver and that's what makes us guilty of all, no matter how big or small we in our human minds might view sin!

    Amen Brother Jesse,

James 2:10 Also came to mind.

    Hi GIGI.

I believe a way to put us are WE covered by the blood of Christ as the children of Israel was covered by the Lambs blood on the door post in Egypt. WE CAN'T COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IN THIS FALLEN STATE WE'RE IN. ( A Sinner).

There may be different sin that brings different results, like fornication ( sin against the body) ect. but all sinners that don't come to Christ will suffer the same fate.

A unbeliever is already dead under the penalty of sin, Christ came to pay the ransom and take that charge off us by way of the cross.

NOTICE THE SINGLE PENALTY AND CHARGE THAT IS MENTIONED BELOW.

Romans 5:11-12. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Wherefore, as by ONE MAN SIN ENTERED into the world, AND DEATH BY SIN; ( and so death passed upon all men, ) for that all have sinned:

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the "SIN" of the world.

NOW CONTINUING TO REJECT TRUTH OR REBEL AGAINST TRUTH OR CORRECTION BY MEANS OF THE LIGHT OF SCRIPTURE CAN BE DANGEROUS.

I think God Judge the heart of every individual and his tolerance may vary but he will not pardon the guilty.

Here's a couple of examples in regards to a few countries.

Matthew 11:21-24. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

ALL SIN IS DEALT WITH BY CHRIST OR YOU.

    GOD BLESS.

    God cannot dwell in the presence of any sin whatsoever. He's a consuming fire. All sins in the 10 commandments, and the 2 new commandments that Jesus gave us;

are considered to be equal in severity.

Committing sin against just one of the commandments, makes us guilty for ALL of them.

We think this is big sin and those others are not all that bad, like telling lies.

God doesn't think that way. He is Holy. He gave us the rules and expects us to comply.

God knows we're going to miss the mark. "For God so loved the World, He gave His only begotten Son.."

He made a way for us to be forgiven. Wipe the slate clean with the blood sacrifice Jesus. It was no small thing Jesus did on the Cross.

I watched that movie, the Passion of the Christ, with my hands over my face. The sounds alone are horrific.

  • Death will come to everyone CHOOSE the LIFE of Jesus NOW - In Reply on 1 Peter 1 - 3 years ago
When Jesus returns, all believers in caskets will come open, meet Jesus in the clouds and receive their glorified bodies.

Christians deceased some other way; Jesus will still receive the ashes or bones and they will receive their glorified bodies.

The still Living Christians will then be caught up to the clouds to be with the entire group. Instantly changed to their glorified bodies.

Those who did not receive Jesus as Lord, before death, will stay in the grave. Their souls will be held somewhere until the Great White Throne Judgment by God. A 1000 year wait.

There will be a group of living people that manage to survive the Tribulation without being killed by Antichrist; WHO PRAYED to be saved (born again), who will not receive glorified bodies, but Jesus will take them to heaven to wait 1000 years for when Satan will be released a short period to be tempt just that group of people and their offspring.

Please tell me why you are willing to throw the dice with your eternal soul?

I realize there are not many ministry programs on antenna or cable, but there's enough to hear the gospel and pray the prayer of faith.

Some of the good benefits of Salvation is that we have favor to ask God to Deliver Us From Evil...addictions, alcohol, sinful sexual lifestyles and more.

There's not a lot of time to debate, waffle, and push it to the limit. NOW is the Day of Salvation.

The real bad thing is this:

EVERY TIME you hear or read the Gospel (story of Jesus), YOUR HEART HARDENS. Soon it's solid and you can't hear His Voice Calling to Your Soul. Tugging on your heart strings.

Go find that Link, BECOME A CHRISTIAN. Verify what I said.

Walmart's are everywhere! Most have inexpensive King James Bibles. This website has a King James Bible, and all the Apocrypha Books.

Pray this often: "By the Authority in the name of Jesus; I command that the Spirit of Bondage be broken and cast into dry places in outer darkness! DO NOT RETURN. Hallelujah!

    Mishael,

"When Jesus returns, all believers in caskets will come open, meet Jesus in the clouds and receive their glorified bodies."

That is literally 25 billion Christians resurrected to everlasting life, which is impossible. The number is a much smaller remnant. The elect.

How do you know the scriptures aren't holding back information, conflating the resurrections? God is not going to give us the keys without effort, you have to prove what you believe. People are dead set on Moses and Elijah being the two witnesses, but try and talk them out of it. Revelation is a esoterical book where you'll find the first verse is the last verse and the last verse is the first verse. I have yet to hear a sound explanation for the mass exodus you describe, as that's not the order. I used to think the same way until I applied reasoned distinctions.

This first "rising", at the last trumpet, is designated for the sealed saints, after the great tribulation. I don't trust that all 144K die in the street; those of them found alive will be taken up (1 Thessalonian 4:17). The firstfruits are the resurrected saints of Revelation 14:4, in heaven. They are the same as those sealed in Revelation 7, and protected in 12. The rest of the dead slept for the thousand years. A day is a thousand years to God.

The rest of the dead at the second resurrection will awake as usual, not knowing 1,000 years have passed.

To Spencer...God is Just and Fair...all the way across the board....He is not a respecter of persons....Sin is SIN...and it all will be judged by the God of Heaven! There is but one way to have those sins washed away or blotted out...and that is by the Blood of Jesus, God's Only Begotten Son!! If the Blood is applied we may enter in, if not? well DEATH..the second death...not death of our physical body...but death meaning eternal separation from God....God is not more understanding about ANY sin....God HATES sin! He cannot look upon it....BUT Jesus!! ALL sin has consequences...even after salvation there is a penalty for sin in our lives.....but after salvation.....We are free from sin and the bondage thereof!! However...our lives and the work done on this Earth for Christ will be tried by our Father in Heaven with fire...and it will be of wood, hay or stubble...and burn before our eyes...OR it will be of precious metals....and make it through the fire....there are also degrees of hell...meaning obviously there are sins that have a greater penalty than others!!!

    Amen Brother Jess.

I believe everything you just said.

I believe the level of fruitfulness behind the works of a believer is important. The purpose behind the action, Is it inward or an outward performance of self glory or righteousness. As the Lord said to the Pharisees.

" Matthew 23:26. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also."

As well as obedience to the will of God.

Luke 12:47-48. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

I believe a non believer will be judged by their deeds APART from the atonement of the provided sacrificial Lamb of God.

Possibly divided by what by what they heard or seen.

Luke 10:13-16. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

    God bless.

Jess, Precious friend, I don't believe God Has a "Double Indemnity" for sin; ie:

"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their WORKS." ( Revelation 20:12).

This then makes sense, since God, The Father IS SATISFIED With His SON's FULL Payment for ALL sin, Correct?

Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened,Exhorted, and Edified!
