    Richard Boyd:. The blood is applied to us at salvation not baptism. One has to be saved first for baptism to mean anything.

    Baptism is the first act of obedience of the believer. Remember the thief on the cross did not get baptized. Nonetheless, Jesus told him he would be in paradise.

    The thief on the cross was still under the old law, Jesus had not died and come back from the grave yet. This is the first example people will pull out of The Word of God to explain why a person doesn't have to be baptized, but it is wrong. John 3:5 ( Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.) I am a simple minded Hillbilly preacher, I don't claim to know much, but I do know this; No matter what men or women say, God's Word will not change. Praying for you.
