Hi Shawna , basically this chapter is about not judging each other and not offending each other , if you went to some ones house and you knew they were a recovering alcoholic , you wouldn't take a bottle of wine with you and sit and drink it in front of them would you ? Also , if you invited some friends of yours to your house for a meal and your friends were Jewish , you wouldn't serve them pork as they don't eat pork . If you know a Christian who occasionally had a beer or a glass of wine but they don't do it regularly and they don't get drunk , you probably shouldn't judge them for that even if you never drink at all . In my congregation , many do not have televisions in their homes , I do have one , the others who don't shouldn't look down on me for allowing myself a t.v. as long as I'm not glued to it all day and talking about t.v. programmes all the time . I love to listen to music , all kinds , some Christians do not do this as they see at as a very worldly thing , I see it as a bit of cheerfull relaxation , Im giving you modern examples in the hope that this will help you understand easier .
