I am currently in a mentally abusive relationship. I want out, I have a 7 month old baby girl and I don't want her growing up around him. He has threaten to burn my family's house and has made other comments/threats. Please pray that my daughter and I can get out of this relationship and we can live our lives happy, peaceful, and not miserably. I guess I am kind of scared...? But that environment is NOT what I want to bring my child up in. Please PLEASE pray for me and my baby. I feel like a bad mom. It's been a traumatic experience being with him.

Find out if their is a battered women's shelter near you. Call your police dept to get that location. Ask about a restraining order.

Call the shelter and find out how to proceed, what items to bring with you. (Birth certificates, etc) don't try to take too much or he'll know you're planning to leave. The shelter can advise you how to proceed legally.

I hope sincerely that there are some police reports on file; but if not, get out now. Take what money you can without alerting him. It's possible the shelter will have inside daycare so you can work. DO NOT tell friends and family members, employer, where you are, in case he tries to hurt them too.

Work out details after you and the child are protected.

Priority is to get somewhere safe NOW, TODAY.

Later: On your phone, Google, battered women's shelter and your zipcode.

Have ATT or Best Buy Geeks check your phone for any Location tracking programs or apps in it. Have those removed.

Come back here anytime. We're all here to help

    Sure will Stephanie.

Does your husband go to Church? If so talk to his pastor if you think it will help.

And there is Ladies on the site might be able to help with advice also.

    God bless.
