Where do I find the prayer " Hail Mary" that the Catholics repeat continuously like it was an actual prayer everyone should pray. I know the lords prayer but not the other. I was told that people pray this because they believe her to be an intercessor between man and GOD. I don't believe this to be true so I need to find answers.
I believe that in Mathew 12:48 and Mark 3;33 Jesus's intent was to clearly show and say to the people then and for the future that Mary had no higher status than any other follower who did the work of GOD. She was blessed to have been chosen by GOD to deliver our savior , but never given any higher status as JESUS states above. It saddens me when I see millions of people worship Mary more than Jesus who actually died for all of us. I believe Mary worship is a demonic tool to turn people from Jesus and lead them astray making them believe that Mary can intervene on their behalf at judgement .
Hello Luc. Roman Catholics & even some other 'churches' make reference to Mary, the Mother of Jesus & use it as part of their praise & petition to her. However, nowhere in the Scriptures do we read of this ever happening or required.
What we do read is in Luke 1:28, "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women" & this is probably one of the references that RCs use to elevate the status of Mary, alongwith papal edicts. Please note, that in the Greek, the word "Hail" means 'Greetings', as the angel greeted Mary & gave her God's Message.
But when we consider those who worship Mary, the most recited version is: "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Here, Mary is elevated to the position of an intercessor, but this is purely the RC belief that Mary's supposed higher status of being the bearer of Jesus, also grants her intercessory powers.
But the Bible states in 1 Timothy 2:5: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus". There can be no Mary, no saint, nor angel in Heaven or on Earth who can mediate on our behalf. That is why we always make our petitions to God through His Son Jesus Christ, Who alone can mediate for us because of His Sacrifice & God's acceptance of it. If we send our prayers & praises to God through any other name, we will not only not be heard, but we do great wrong to the position of Jesus in Heaven & His great Sacrifice on Earth. Please be comforted & encouraged in your belief that we can approach God only through His Son.
