    Brother Alex,

God made a special exception for the thief. It is also very probable that the thief never had a chance to hear the WORD of God, hence God can make these kinds of exceptions. But, you, and I, and many others, have heard Jesus Christ's gospel, and we are supposed to be following Jesus. If we turn our backs on Christ's commandments, or HIS WORDS, we will not be treated like the thief, because we have been forewarned by Jesus what he expects from us!

    2 Peter 2:21

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Matthew 24:35

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

    Read and believe!

    God Bless.

Brother Dan, the word says God is no respecter of persons. He would not treat the thief differently, he does't treat a handicapped person differently.

He is the SAVIOUR of ALL MEN and MAN has nothing to ADD.

    The GOSPEL reveals this TRUTH.

    Brother Earl,

You and Brother ChrisE compare a disabled person to a thief, when there is no viable comparison.

A disabled person DID NOT choose to be disabled.

A thief DID CHOOSE to steal, breaking God's commandments. Crystal clear difference!

Christians have heard Jesus Christ's Gospel. We have a CHOICE - hear and followor IGNORE and not follow.

    2 Peter 2:21

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

True believers will listen to Jesus/God's WORD, and follow, if not, Jesus tells us how he will respond:

    Matthew 7:21-23

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So, Jesus will not accept EVERY MAN,(OR WOMAN) only those that doeth the will of God. This comes directly from Jesus, if you don't believe it, then your argument is with Jesus/God!

    God Bless.

Hiya Bro. Dan GBU lemme give ya my slant on the 2 thieves, They are ALL of US as Paul said i am Crusified with Christ yet its not i that live but Christ that lives with in me and the life i now live is by the faith of Christ Jesus etc. Bro. Dan we must all be Crusified with Christ. And as far as him NEVA knowing us that what he wants is for US humanity to know HIM thats when that good seed is sown in our hearts initiating a birth of A BABY CHRIST IN US, OUTTA OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES AND SUCKLING THOU HAS PERFECTED PRAISE,Our old man is made white at repentence but he answers to the sow that returns to her mud and the dog that returns to his vomit. That is what happens when we bring forth no fruit unto God meaning a heavenly birth of Christ in us the H.G the Child of Promise, its the H.G. the CHILD OF Promise that pleases God. our old nature returns to his vomit etc That y he has to KNOW US that when the good seed is sown in our hearts resulting in a heavenly Birth of Christ in us. THAT PLEASES GOD 100 % (((( BRO DAN )))) GBU

    Bro Alex,

Thanks for your response, always appreciate your thoughts, and viewpoints.

Yes, I agree, we are all like the thieves being crucified next to Jesus. We are all sinners, and Jesus was the pure sin free lamb sacrificed for us. Wow!!!!

    John 1:29

"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

    1 John 2:2

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

    1 Peter 1:19

"But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"

I can find no words to express my gratitude to Jesus for HIS Sacrifice. I pray that his Holy Spirit will help to manifest in me what comes from my heart and mouth to help produce the good fruit that is so desirable.

    Matthew 15:11

"Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man."

    God Bless

  • GRACE_ambassador {ChrisE} special exception for water? - In Reply - 3 years ago
"God made a special exception for the thief."? Then, a LOVING God would Also Make Special EXCEPTIONS Today for ALL who are disabled, wheelchair bound, bedridden, and dying in the hospitals, Correct?

I thank God that His Gospel of GRACE is SO 'simple' Today, with 'ONE Spiritual' Baptism for me, AND 'ALL of the above' folks who may trust In HIM, and Not In ANY 'works.' Rom 11:6 Amen?:

    ONE Baptism:

    Brother ChrisE,

Regarding the thief on the cross, I will reiterate previous responses directed at this issue. God can have mercy on whomever he pleases, please see the scripture below:

Romans 9:18 "Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth."

It sounds like you have an issue with God choosing who he wants to have mercy on? If so, your argument is not with me, it is with God!

When Jesus forgave the thief on the cross it was "a special act of mercy" for the thief, and NOT a message "to all mankind" to go ahead and keep sinning and as long as you believe in Christ you will be saved. That is a FALSE MESSAGE with a cult like following. The devil and his demons believe, based on your doctrine "of believe only" they go to heaven too!!

In addition to Believing, we must be baptized in water, receive the Holy Spirit, also REPENT, and lead a good christian life following the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is Jesus/God stating all of this throughout the bible, and in the following scripture:

    John 3:5

"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Revelation 22:12-14

12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Do you believe the above scripture? If you believe the above scripture, and if you love Jesus you will follow HIS advice! If you turn your back on the above scripture, Jesus has already said that he will be our JUDGE, and he will judge us according to HIS WORD!

If you can't believe the above scripture from Jesus/God, your disagreement is not with me, it's with God!

    God Bless.
