How were people already in the land of Nod when Cain went there and married, but Adam and Eve were the first people created?

Hi Glen, Let's say that a human race was created before Adam and Eve, then these people could have lived in Nod. When Cain went there and took a wife (from them) then he mixed the seed of promise ( Genesis 3:16) with that which was not of the promise. (Like Ishmael and Esau did later). God may have done this as you said. He would have known that these humans and Cain's descendants would not survive the flood and that Noah and is family were of the seed of promise, the line of Seth.

Either way, when the flood came, all of the humans, whether from Seth's line or Cain and the other people's line died, except for Noah and his family. So after the flood, The seed line of the promise was the only line to repopulate the earth.

Adam and Eve's bloodline is the one that the Savior of mankind would come from. About whether Genesis 1 and 2 are to separate creation events or two versions, there is room for speculation. But if you go with to creation events, then you have to also believe that God recreated the plants and animals in the second event. And then you would have to ask, what happened to the plants and animals from the first creation before day 7?

Hi Glenn There were more men called out in the genealogy of Christ that were nomad shepherds than farmers, just an observation.

Hi Dotha Ann Evans, One must take into consideration that the word itself said Jesus did many other things. If they were all written in books, I don't suppose there would be room enough in the whole world for all the books. So we see here there are a lot of things that were not in the bible that took place. What we have in the gospels are an account of the mission of Yahweh and Jesus. This means that many of the lives of the wicked are not told fully usually just their transgression and how they died. Yahweh focused on his sheep.

    Hi Dortha.

Here is the account in Genesis 4:16-17. And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

( AND CAIN KNEW HIS WIFE; )and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

The scripture says went out from the presence of the Lord, dwelleth in Nod and Knew his wife. it doesn't say he met her in Nod or he married a woman from Nod.

So it is reasonable to think he may have already been married when he killed his brother Abel.

    God bless.
