A recurrent hernia can happen for many reasons, such as a surgical error, the sutures holding the abdominal muscles together becoming less effective over time or a surgical wound that has not healed properly.

Additionally, recurrent hernias can be caused by various conditions, behaviors and activities that strain or weaken the abdominal muscle after the initial repair. These include:

    Being overweight

    Smoking

    Diabetes

Steroids, chemotherapy or other medications that compromise the immune system

Heavy lifting or other strenuous activities

    Signs and symptoms include:

A bulge at or near the site of the original hernia

Pain - which can range from a dull ache to severe pain - especially when coughing, sneezing or lifting heavy objects

    Bloating or constipation

Lena, sometimes I've stood in prayer for healing and it didn't come. Apostle Paul prayed for healing and the Lord 3 times and the Lord replied , 2 Corinthians 12:9. It happens. It doesn't mean our faith is not strong enough.

I think you should get your records on your past surgery and see another doctor. Pain is a sign that something is wrong.

I'm going to put your name on my prayer board; and continue to agree with you for healing.

I know this may violate your faith, but hang onto hope and faith. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

    We ALL go through this.

Keep praising God for strength and guidance; but see the doctor again. Write down your diet, meds you take, over the counter meds too.

Lena, as Gods kids we have to read His Bible. It builds up your faith. If we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can take out giants. That is actually smaller than a hamburger poppyseed.

Our nation is in such disarray, it's overflowing into our homes. I have to do this too: ask God to forgive me every time I wonder something out loud (like, when is the world going to be normal again?!)

I pick 2 things I want to watch on tv, a day, and then I turn off the screaming. Read 2-3 chapters in the Bible. Your faith grows. Jesus is coming back soon. We ought to want to know more about Himcause we'll all be living in heaven with Him.

On your behalf I'm going to ask our Father if he will send an Angel to keep you in all your ways, for a time. To protect and guide you.

My Angel likes music. We listen to Dion: Still in the Spirit, album. It's on YouTube :D

Lena, I know it's hard to understand why bad things happen and why we must sometimes wait for healing. Been there, done that. But I have found that there is always a reason, though we may not know or understand until we get to Heaven. I urge you to pray, read your Bible, trust in Him, and keep on holding His hand for His grace is sufficient for you. 2 Corinthians 12:9 "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
