  • Eating Heavy Bible Every Day With Jesus - 3 years ago
I can read whole books of the Bible every day. (I'm retired) I turn off the phone, the tv, get a large water and pray that my eyes and heart be open to the Holy Spirit.

He's our Teacher. Book of John 14:28,

    John 16:13-14, 1 Peter 2:2,

    1 Corinthians 3:2

If we're not quoting scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?

Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; BUT WHO ARE YOU?!

This is what we need. More Christians quoting scripture like the Son of God.

I have visions ok. I had this one of me as a baby Christian: I was sitting on a chair by this big table. I had my arms on the table pulling food into my mouth. Everybody's face looks on with disgust. Then I hear Jesus laughing at the head of the table. He was pleased.

Jesus likes to see a healthy appetite!

If I sound kinda rowdy it's because I'm from Texas. If we all ate the Bible like Texans can pack on some barbecue, we'd all be firing scripture like the Son of God.

When Jesus was in the desert, fasting 40 days and nights: he was challenged by Satan. Jesus said, IT IS WRITTEN: and He fired off the appropriate Scripture. He defeated Satan each time. We can too. We're his disciples because we follow Him.

The only arrows in our quiver, are scriptures. Your Sword of the Spirit enlarges with Gods WORD in our mouth.

    God provides. We obey.

Precious friend "eating heavy," thanks for your Valuable Input: "If we're not quoting Scripture like The Son of God, what are we learning?" My question is, Is that enough for 'learning', just to "quote Them"? ie

There are three classes of 'quoters'... 1 UNbelievers who ...'think'... they are believers ... ...2 believers who quote Them "out of context"... 3 believers who qoute Them "IN God's 'Context'" ie

Example, one Precious friend gave us this

"The deal is, Jesus is the Son of God AND THE SON OF MAN. Human. He gave us his Authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead. I haven't raised anyone deceased." (Precious Mishael)

Would not this 'Confuse' the babes In CHRIST, who are "studying" Scripture to 'learn'? Should they 'legitimately' be concerned about "His authority that 'cannot' be practiced" Today?

Is not the answer to this Confusion, obeying God's Command in 2 Timothy 2:15, keeping Scriptures we 'quote' IN "God's PROPER 'Context'" and, Rightly Dividing Them for understanding?:

    Part 1

Prophecy/Law = "authority to raise the dead"

Rightly Divided 2 Timothy 2:15 From "Things That DIFFER!"

MYSTERY/Grace "Several 'learning' Scriptures (for 'power' Today!) quoted here

    God's GRACE in infirmities: Link

    to be continued...

    Power Today

    Part 2

Precious friend, for Further Consideration of "studying" According To God's Command in 2 Timothy 2:15

    Prophecy vs MYSTERY: Link

Precious friend, Please have your 'spiritual' appetite satisfied "With Heavy Bible studying," having a "FULL (stomach) ASSURANCE of understanding" according To God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided!

"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto All Riches of The Full Assurance of understanding, to the Acknowledgement of The MYSTERY of God, and of the Father, and of Christ" Colossians 2:2

    Conclusion

God's 'Context' for today = Prophecy/Law OR: Revelation Of The MYSTERY/GRACE?

I am an evangelist. I may not be ministering to you. Most of the time I'm out where the sneakers meet the road. I try to encourage others, and to meet the unsaved and hurting, right where they are.

I love what I do. If Jesus said to stop it, I would of course.

At the end of the day is prayer, and lots of it.

You should just pray for me and the Lord will surely pull me to the curb and it's heads up. I don't teach Greek or Hebrew. I leave that to the Teachers. I appreciate your gift very much.

Today the Holy Spirit asked me, "Who killed John the Baptist." I don't know all what He is going to show me. I can look up scriptures all day and nightand I did. Your take on my careless preaching just clearly shows all the different parts of the Body of Christ. We're different but we all fit together. I am not going to sit in the house and Teach. That's your deal. My deal is out in the open, listening for the Holy Spirit (talk to this one, that one) I absolutely love what I do.

Let's appreciate each other; everyone. The Harvest is exciting. I think it's a time of great joy.

That message on eating heavy Bible; was for snackers. The Lord wants to fill us up so we "run over" on people who are starving for Gods Word.

    Luke 6:38

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

    Blessings and Peace

There is no big mystery of God, the big mystery is why there are some on this site that try hard to confuse, mystify, mislead, and complicate the bible scriptures. God speaks plainly, so "plain people" can understand.

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Do you love Jesus? Yes or No?

    It's very simple!

    God Bless.

You are absolutely correct brother Dan . I do think that my faith in God and His Son has been strengthened by studying His word beyond the commandments . Also , if the simple commandments were the only things that we needed to help and encourage us then that's all God would have given us don't you think ? God knows how to keep us with Him , He knows that many of us are weak and lazy and easily distracted by this world , He knows how to strengthen and comfort us and that's why He gave us the Bible , which is more than the simple commandments , it is meat and drink to us and it is there for a purpose , God's purpose , or He wouldn't have given us it . You are correct , the basic message of salvation is very simple but some of us need a bit more food to sustain us in this life in these kingdoms of men that are horrifying and tempting at the same time . The more I read and hopefully understand the stronger my faith gets and my guess is that there are going to be some very trying times ahead for all of us . May God's Word keep us strong in Christ .

    Dear Sister Sacha,

Thanks. I agree, as we grow we find that we crave more food - meat and drink as you put it:)

I feel so blessed to be on this site with so much meat and drink to share!

    John 6:54

"Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

May God always light your path!
