I must apologize to readers. When I began reading Genesis about one month ago, I was new to this site and such a forum as this. So, after reading the chapters, I would read what has been said in discussion, and then write what I get out of the chapter. I am not really writing to anyone but myself. It helps me remember and process information. I do hope that some may bring some answers to some of my "wonderings" as I often post questions that come to mind. I also hope that some will find something helpful in what I post.

I know that I write at length. That is how my brain works to process thoughts. So, I apologize if some are irritated with this style. I don't mean to offend anyone.

I started a journal on Genesis last week, so I have gone back to my posts to re read what I have written to jog my memory. These posts are helping me in this review. I am not very tech savvy, so this is the best way I know how to do this. So, please bear with me as I take this trip into Genesis. Ignore me if you wish. I certainly don't mind if anyone does that.

Just thought to go back to Genesis 1 and add this for anyone who may start there and wonder, "Who is this GiGi"?

I am just and old believer who is looking to be refreshed by God's Word. I ad no idea this site had a discussion forum when I first searched for it. The discussion forum was not why I came here, but God knows what I need and led me here.

Were giants procreated from the sons of GOD (Angels) and daughters of men's sexual union?
  • Cowboy - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
    Thomas

Yes, there were giants in the earth or on the earth. These giants were from the sons of God, these sons of God were angels. When God created Adam God made Adam in his image. So, Adam was one of the sons of God. Genesis 6: 2 tells us that the sons of God took them wives of all which they chose. The Angels have a freewill just as you do, they can choose to serve God are not, just as humans can choose to serve God are not, and if a human or angel refuses to serve God the angel is sent to the bottomless pit chained, and the human that refuses to serve God when he dies is sent to hell.

    Genesis 6: 1- 6

1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

    God Bless

stay prayed up and ready to go up

On the red link page, the Apocrypha; if you type giants into the search box; there's a lot more info on giants.

I don't study that. Mostly, because angels are created by God. The ones that followed satan when he was thrown out of heaven became fallen/evil like Satan (who was created too).

Scripture teaches when we are caught up to heaven we'll be as the angels: not given in marriage (or dating). Anatomically speaking I don't know what that means. I don't know what the demons are like. Unless they borrow a human body (from the unsaved peoples), they are invisible. Ephesians 6.

After Noah's Ark, demons would have spirit bodies. Personally, I was attacked by a spirit in which a person whom I quoted scripture to for being involved in spiritism; allowed entry by a demon. It almost broke my neck. I pled the Blood of Jesus and angels took "it" off me and fought it outside in the yard. I heard it.

This can't happen to a born again Christian.

It is wisdom to not delve into the supernatural because our "faith" in the credence of it, attracts evil spirits. Better that our faith is STRONG in Jesus's Authority over evil spirits. Don't walk a tightrope unless you are prepared to fall.

Witches and satanic priests have relations with demons; only invisible beings cannot have mortal body parts.

Be very careful over your curiosity about forbidden dabbling. Leave this alone. You're being targeted.

Hi Mishael I'm don't understand something everybody keeps saying the scripture says but when it comes

to evil spirits it says devils not demons, then i'm gonna hear its all the same if that's true why doesn't it say demons?
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Brother Rick, using either 'devils' or 'demons' is quite acceptable as the meaning is the same. It's just that the older translations (KJV, Tyndale Bible, Geneva Bible, etc.) use 'devils', whereas the newer translations use 'demons'. Maybe this was done to allay any misunderstanding between the devil himself & his 'demons', as some might think of 'devils' as many of the same hierarchy & control as Satan. Personally, I wouldn't judge anyone for choosing 'demon' to correctly describe those evil spirits that followed Satan & do his works on the Earth.

Hi Chris This is not taking sides but its interesting how translations keep changing things in the Word little by little

by little, but if it all means the same thing why are they changing the word little by little because its[acceptable].

I',m thankful that when Jesus Christ was confronted by satan and satan used Gods Words out of context Jesus

Stand and Reply was It Is Written in the right context. Thank God This is just an example not that were discussing

context usage just changing scripture a little. I'll go with devils demons sounds to nice.
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Thank you David. True, translations have continued to evolve over time & often, & in an attempt for making it more understandable to succeeding generations, they have sometimes lost the original meaning of the word. I guess, those of us who read from the KJV are at fault also, as it is simply an 'older' English translation/wording of the original languages. And we know that we often need to go back to the originals to learn about the matter more clearly.

A recent example we've been dealing with on KJBO, is the matter of 'gods', where the original word is 'Elohim'. One can be pedantic & state that the word only applies to the True God, therefore every appearance of the word must mean that men, angels, etc. must also be 'a god' as well; whereas that generic name has other meanings which need correct application in context. Where I get troubled is when the newer translations do not remain faithful to the original languages because of their quest to make verses more understandable, or even omitting verses altogether.

In regards to 'devils', in Luke 11:15 we read, "But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils." In the Greek, the word is 'daimonion', from which of course, we get 'demons', & this is defined as 'evil spirits, heathen deities, demons'. However, the KJV chooses to use 'devils', which is also correct. I don't believe anything is lost by using 'demons or evil spirits'.

Chris Sorry I answered the the first one, 2nd mistake i made today.
  • Rick - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Chris I respect and understand what your saying I have the same respect admiration and awe for our Almighty

Father, and as Jesus Christ said when we come to God as such with the heart of a child he is more than willing to

meet the need. Too many Christians either approach with self righteous arrogance or I'm not good enough,

no balance we have been made righteous in Gods way by His spirit that doesn't mean be haughty or high minded

about it or I'm not good enough and almost beg for help. God wants neither the balance is the word and walking

by the spirit. That includes meekness and humility traits not of the five senses. Our father wants to help us His children and willing to give them anything according to His Word. In respect of the devils or demon

i'll stick with my position the enemy isn't going to soften what he does so i'll stick with original scripture description

there are too many things being labeled its O.K. if this makes me tough spiritually so be it.

Also too many people who are wanting to believe are asking which bible is closets to the truth! That alone is alarming

I stick with kjv and work the original languages it was translated from and studies from eastern culture which

makes a dramatic difference in belief and understanding. That being shared I'm moving on Brother God bless.
  • Rick - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Chris I understand the translations and the changes but I'll stick with scripture reason being it makes them

sound less then what they are evil see the connection devil evil and also again another little change of original text. Another point The kingpin is known as The Devil amongst other titles and all messengers operating under Him are

devils. I seem to remember what happened when one person said thou shalt not surely die and another said thou

shalt surely die. Just making a point
  • Chris - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Thank you Rick - point taken. I've replied to David also on this matter, if you could refer to that.
  • There is POWER IN JESUS NAME and His BLOOD. - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
I guess I say both. Probably because of books I read in the past. You're right. The word isn't in the Bible. When I pray, I say evil spirit.

One told Jesus it's name was Legion, "because we are many."

    Acts 19:15

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

I think most important is to not respond in any way other than HOW Jesus demonstrates (or Paul) in the scriptures. In my experience, they respect the name of Jesus and his shed blood. I don't like talking about it.

I was newborn Christian and I had to fight back. They will not cross the blood of Jesus. I was accused for having practiced astrology. I didn't have Bible knowledge yet. I had the Holy Spirit tell me to plead the Blood.

    Hi Thomas,

That was the interpretation generally held by the church in its early history, but others say that the sons of God were the men of the line of Seth and the daughter's of men were from the line of Cain or even, perhaps, of other human populations if God create mankind in Genesis 1 and set apart Adam in the garden for the line that survives the flood and leads to Jesus, our Messiah. I don't know if we can really know for sure. The Book of Enoch says that it was fallen angels that interbred with human women.

I do not know if scientific discovery will bring anything to this discussion. Should skeletal remains of people from that time ever be found and DNA could be extracted and analyzed, and compared to others from that age, then we may get some answers.

I have known people who work at moving graveyards for Government purposes.

He said in several years span they have never found bones, teeth or any remains that they were able to tell a difference in it was all dirt. This would be older graves, when most were put in a wooden box. It is just moving a marker mostly.

Pick the video with the choir picture. It was a great church till The Pastor turned apostate; and still is.
  • Grace - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
Do you think the pastor will ever come back to the Lord with his whole heart? Do you believe that's even possible?
  • Going Forward with God__Dont Look Back - In Reply on Genesis 1 - 2 years ago
I can't share details because it would feel like gossiping. I can only say he shares a church with a Unity Church. On YouTube people remember the past (live in it) and miss those days and the music. Carlton is on YouTube. All the videos of him with black hair are old.

He played 'church' when he was little, with siblings and friends. He was a very anointed Pastor.

However it happened, he began teaching there was no hell. He lost his church. Oral Roberts rebuked him and other ministers. This happened I think in the 90's. I moved to Austin in 89.

I still have a box of his sermons from before he changed. Such an anointing! A lot of people followed him. He's living in past glory; so are they.

He needs people of faith to keep praying for him. I believe in miracles.

The Bible says in Revelation 22:18-21

We are forbidden to add, subtract or change scripture. No options.

I will help you in any way I can. I'm not a scholar. I'm only blood bought, Spirit filled, no pew jumping but shouting with joy maybe screaming lol

    Evangelizing child of God.

Go on YouTube and search a song called, I GOT THE JOY, by Carman. I went to that church.

Now get happy and be oily because offenses will come. Let it run off ya.

    Hi Sister GiGi.

    No need of an apology,

We all can use a refreshing course.

    I does helps.

    God bless.

Thank you Spencer. I am sure that there may be someone out there on this forum that need that apology, or else I would not have been prompted to do so. I am glad some are receiving something profitable from my posts as I do from so many others on this forum.

    Thanks Adam.

I just felt urged to go back and write that post. So, I want to be obedient. It wasn't about anything anyone said to me.

God knows the why of it.

    Beloved child,

When this happens to me, I know the Shepherd is calling me to Psalm 23.

It's important to remember Job 1: satan sneaks around to find what we fear, or if we have all our armor on? There is now no condemnation.

Time to go to the pasture. You might just sit outside and look at the clouds in the sky like me, and whisper "even so, Come Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus bless me with a fresh anointing as written in Luke 4:18.

I went to this church in Tulsa for 3 years and was sent home to care for my Dad until he died. Me and friend sat behind Carman every Sunday. :D

The Pastor in that video became Apostate. I was heartbroken. A year ago, Carman died. I refuse to stop praying for Carlton Pearson. The Holy Spirit showed me how it happened. I've never spoken of it.

Rest a little. Watch some Carman songs on youtube: I got the joy (pick the one showing the choir). Church was fun and I learned lots! Watch "resurrection rap" and some of his hymn songs.
