That's an interesting question coming from your position. Can you share your take on this? In what manner does you pastor your congregation in regards to this?
I will agree, and add to what Brother Adam humbly stated previously. I agree that Jesus tells us that FEW will make it to heaven. It's not because they don't have the opportunity, they do, but most want to continue to live a sinful/worldly life.
Matthew 10:38-39
"And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me."
"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."
Jesus provides us with the answers. He is the Judge and he tells us specifically in this scripture below in "simple words" what he will be looking for from us to enter heaven.
Revelation 22:12-14
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
I've been seeing people posting lately to try to convince us Jesus is wrong and instead they are right, which is ludicrous. If that doesn't wave a giant red flag I don't know what else will. Obviously we should believe God's word over man's word any day. It's amazing how hard people try to twist things, as if they have something against the Bible. Beware of satan prowling like a lion waiting to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
Jesus isn't calling saints like you to join up. He is calling on the down trodden sinners to to put away sin and walk in paradise with the Lord. The lost sheep. Ashes and diamonds, foe and friend, we were all equal in the end.
You are right. When I was trapped in sin, serving Satan and suicidal. Plenty of people told me I was going to hell, but, NOT one person invited me to go to Church with them on Sunday.
I was so isolated and dragged down, I would've gone.
As it happened, the Lord came to me, and reached into my hell and pulled me out. You don't turn your back on that kind of Love. Not ever.
Jesus saves those who choose to follow Him and sadly most will stubbornly not follow Him. Deniers of Jesus aren't following Him. People who love sin are not following Him. Do you disagree?
Sadly, we're not all equal in the end.
Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Those are Jesus's words. Do you believe Jesus or deny Jesus? Jesus gave warnings throughout his whole ministry. He died for everyone and everyone has an opportunity to follow Jesus, but most don't. False teachings spread here are reinforcing people to continue in sin rather than follow Jesus. It's really sickening to see. I feel very bad for the souls lost and for those deceived by the lies.
Why are so many people falsely claiming everyone is "saved" when Jesus clearly says that's NOT true? Where does such a belief even come from- a man- or God's Word.
Matthew 7:22 - this says many won't make it and they even consider themselves followers. Do you believe or deny Matthew 7:22?
Salvation is at stake and Jesus says you should fear the one who can send you to hell. If someone is following Jesus then you can have assurance of salvation, but if not, you can have assurance of hell. This seems to upset people here and its quite perplexing, because that literally is the gospel. The good news is that Jesus loves you enough to die from you and spare you from hell, but you must stop sinning and follow Him! The only explanation to why people just can't embrace what the Bible says is that this is a spiritual battle, people have hard hearts, and people's own pride has not fully let them accept what Jesus said in Luke 13:24.
My wish is for everyone to read the Bible carefully, especially the gospels and pray for wisdom and understanding. This will help clear out the noise and falsehoods people like to spread. God bless.
Hi Adam I've read with respect your heart and intensity for those who abuse the grace, the being said who did Jesus Christ come for originally. Brother this is not a trick question.
Hello, Jesus came everyone- do you believe this? Everyone is lost without Him. Matthew 1:21, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 3:8.
False teachers are claiming that everyone is saved regardless and you don't even need to follow Jesus or do anything at all. Some say you can enjoy yourself, commit unlimited sin, follow and worship satan, because it doesn't matter. Based on this lie, I'm sure many would enjoy using that as justification to commit sin tonight: maybe have an affair, do drugs, lie, steal, commit violence, and do whatever your heart desires, and all the things God hates. None of this info comes from the Bible. Jesus said the opposite of what people are spewing here. If Jesus was here today they would likely call Him names, like legalistic or unloving or unaccepting. People are embracing the values of the world over the God's values. Jesus warned everyone to NOT SIN and be NOT of this world. People are twisting things to justify themselves living and following the world and assume they are saved when they are not. The end will be exactly as Jesus predicted: Matthew 7:21.
People at least can't say they weren't warned. But the false teachings about people saying there's no hell, no sin, no this or that is all lies. It's like the devil himself posting lies. A lot of cherrypicking and scripture ignoring must happen to make such a conclusions and it begs the question if everyone is already saved then why read the Bible or spread the gospel if what they say is true? Really sad to see that on a Bible site where 1 click away God's word debunks it. God bless...
Thank you , Adam. You said it well. Not everything posted on this forum is sound teaching. So, people should be warned and false teaching should be identified and spoken as a false teaching against Scripture. You are right that the logical end of such teaching that there is no hell or that all will be saved in the end is just what you stated. No hatred for sin, rater wanton indulgence in it. No desire to walk in truth, rather following after ideas that satisfy itching ears eager to embrace the newest fad in worldly thinking. No need to share the gospel, because no one will need it to be saved. No need for the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because He won't be saving anyone from anything. Such abhorrent teachings lead people astray, neuter the words of Christ, and appeal to the pride of man, causing one's heart to rise up in direct arrogance against God Almighty.
These are just two of many verses about the importance of the cross, and Jesus salvation on the cross.
John 14:6-7, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
"If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" "Not of works, lest any man should boast."

I use the topical a-z list the most. This should inspire many enlightening sermons for your congregation.
