    why did priest eat sin offering in Ezekiel 44 29

    Hi Juanita. All that was offered on the altar for the various types of sacrifices, could be eaten by the priests. You can get more details of this in Leviticus chapters 7 & 10.

    Since the Tribe of Levi (from whom the priests & levites were appointed) could not own land, have farm animals or grow crops, the remains of the burnt sacrifices on the altar became food for them. This might sound insincere considering the meaning of these grave sacrifices, but once the offering was made & God accepted it (i.e. "smelled a sweet savour"), the animal or grain remnants were for the eating by the priests only. However, they were not allowed to partake of the blood of the animal nor of the fat of the animal - the blood was to be poured out & the fat completely burned.
