I need to see in the scriptures the answers to these question please. Was the angel name Samiel before his name changed to Lucifer? My next question is, How was it even possible for Lucifer to have the thought that he was better or more powerful than God? If the Angels only had God's will not free will how did the thought ever form. Especially in Heaven?

Jude 1:6, hopefully this is helpful in your study.

You can also do a word or phrase search in this app. It is very helpful.

Hi Cheryl Alo I'd stick with Gods word concerning names and titles when it comes to spiritual things, because

Gods Word doe's have all things that pertain to life and Godliness.

Cheryl, I concur with Rick. Angels have free will. Amazing that myriads of angels have never rebelled against God since they were created! Being in the presence of God must be amazing!

I don't know if we will ever know why or how Lucifer thought up the evil that caused him to fall. We know very little about angels and the spiritual dimension for a reason. I believe that Samiel is named in the book of Enoch or Jasher(?) or Jubilees. It says he was one of the leaders of the watcher angels who descended on Mt. Hermon to have sexual relations with human women in Genesis 6. I do not think he is the same angel as Lucifer. Others may have more information on tis. It is apocryphal information, not part of the canonical books of the Bible.

Hi Cheryl The true God is not a control freak, all of His creation has Freedom of Will that included

Lucifer who Decided to try to usurp Gods throne and became the Devil or Satan.

Rick could you please send me the scriptures you are quoting from. Because I need to know about freedom of will in all his creations. Also how did the thought even occur to Lucifer when he was in heaven Scriptures Only Please

Hi Cheryl If God has not given man freedom of will then He could have stopped Adam and Eve in the garden

of Eden from eating the fruit, that's proof that God is not a control freak also He knows His Enemy does nothing

but steal kill and destroy John 10:9 so why didn't he Just wipe Him out immediately. because God is just and works

within the framework of His word. That's why in the gospels numerous places Jesus Christ walked through situations

because His time was not yet. When He gave up I.E. did the Fathers will by His freedom of will, I lay down my life

and He was the greatest example of how the true God operates. Even in dealing with people they had to by freedom

will make up their mind to believe. Remember the true God works by Inspiration His Word, the enemy works by

manipulation of Gods Word. Gods words have already won through Christ!
