did everything in parables and metaphors . But the foot washing was just SIGMBOLIC of mans EVIL heart washing as Jesus said its the things that come from the HEART that defiles a man . And we should wash our brother's feet with the word as he said you are made clean by the word i have spoken unto you ,the living word which is the H.G. As the kingdom is gonna be with in US.
