Vs 16? Should I take this vs as a parable? When I read this, I think about my own nation , and how our country is very much into immoral, ungodly.unrepentive, greedy, power hungry some murderous individuals, some even mock our lord proudly.when I look around its hard to find a lot of goodness.shoukd I refrain from praying for my godless seeming nation ?is there a line a nation can cross of horribleness before God is done? I know that God is coming with his wrath to judge tge tribes( jacobs troubles) and I know god loves the jews and jus wants them to walk righteously to obey and to put him first.i know he punishes to correct.how should I interpret this verse?

Mara Because of who runs the systems of the World the Adversary we who believe will never save a country,

individuals yes never a nation, that's why its each one win one. Jesus Christ ministered to thousands and

only just over a hand full in the end really believed and were born again. So its not quantity its quality. Many

    are called few are chosen!

You are so right Rick. We minister directly to those who God brings into our sphere of life, meet them where they are, and encourage and help them believe and grow in Jesus.

Hi Mara Jeremiah was called out by God to bring his adopted children back to Him that chose to go and Worship

other gods in defiance of His Word. This country is headed unfortunately in the same direction, even so called

churches and leaders are condoning lifestyles that are in absolute defiance of what the True God says not to be

partakers of. When the wicked rule the people perish. You cannot compromise on the word without paying the

consequences whether your an individual or nation. Jeremiah 2:13 Notice Godis talking to His people they have

Him the fountain of Living waters how because they have made their own beliefs and exalted them above IT IS

WRITTEN. We are at the point of Joshua 24:14-27 and christians need to get Honest in their actions and

lifestyles or Gods Hands are tied. God is no respecter of persons but conditions, He always backs up His Word

when carried out His Way. We need to pray for people to stop elevating vain imaginations above THE TRUTH

    Romans 1.

Mara, I read the whole passage of Jeremiah 7: It is God speaking through Jeremiah about the unfaithfulness and false affections of Judah towards God. The Jews broke God's commandments without concern and came into the house of worship thinking that they could stand before God and receive approval and blessing from Him, as if He did not see their problematic sinful actions.

I don't think that this is necessarily saying we are not to pray or make intercession for nations, governments, or people in this age. I think, because we have the indwelling Holy Spirit, we will be led by Him to pray and intercede. We, believers, have the commands of Paul to pray often for everything in our pervue.
