Hi frens ,.. question ? In my study an quest on learning,.. I have come upon the Old Testament Hebrew, was lacking in the letter J. ,.. but instead used Y ,.. where it seems to be,.. Gods name begins with that Y ,.. an no J ,.. so when I see Jahova ? ( -5 spelling ! ). Or how ever it is !!! An I've seen YHVH ,. As the sacred name ,.. has any one else here happen to have come to this study an understanding ?

Glenn The original language of the scriptures is Greek hebrew and aramaic, Jesus Christ him self spoke a

Northern aramaic dialogue, also when you add in the eastern culture customs and figures of Speech which

God used with perfect accuracy, then this scripture Hits Home plate Psalm 138:2 Thou speaking of God has

magnified thy word above all His name, so His greatest work is the perfection of His Word. That is Loaded

we cannot comprehend perfect so we do our best to believe and walk by Gods grace in it.

Glenn Yes but I prefer not to get into translations because it causes too much controversy because others think

your trying to change Gods Word which is not the intent.

    You are right Glenn,

Hebrew and Greek did not have a letter "J" "J" came into the alphabet and corresponding, phoneme arena with the Romans, I believe, as Jesus in Roman was "Iesous" in Greek and "Yeshua" in Hebrew. I am not sure how the initial "Ie" or "ye" was pronounced in Greek or Hebrew, perhaps a forced exhaled sound between J and Y or JH or HY.

Anyone out there who knows more?

Thank you,.. I certainly never wish to go to far as to assume or change what is written,.. but I do believe each language in all of life , has a certain way , to speak,.. an sense we never herd it spoken ourselves,.. it's not possible to have complete understanding,.. ; as like the saying of todays rap music,.. " My Bad ". It took me a while before I completely had a understanding !!!' An I'm sorry, but each language all through this time, has a certain " TWANG ". to it. !!!!!!!

You are right, Glenn. We are blessed to have the internet to discover so much more than other believers trough the ages, but even so, they did just fine without because our relationship with our Lord is not about how much we know and understand nor how perfectly, but by how He knows us and understands us perfectly so that He can meet all of our needs in whatever sphere-spiritual, relational, physical, intellectual, and emotional. Praise the Lord, it is all of Him!

WOW,.. thank you, yes I do often forget, to not be to hard on myself to seek out knowledge, but to keep in mind, it may have a lot to do with our Father, an his way of keeping me from being my own worst enemy !!!!

Glenn I barely remember my hippie daze LOL thank God but too much in communication has become

too confusing to me to relate to. The privilege of becoming more antique or aging. That being said

biblical research in the language if that time is very inspiring.
