I have come across while reading my KJV Bible...now this site matches up with my Bible "word for word"

WHY have I seen and read the word "Unicorn" ? I thought Unicorns were a fictional and methodical creature..ya know not "REAL" ... am I wrong ? also the word "alien" a few times too..now I know Aliens are really fallen Angels and Demons...there are not any aliens from another planet !! ..that is a world deception to throw us off ...now when it says "alien" in the Bible dose this mean just someone from another country ..like it means here ? a alien from across the sea or across the boarder ??... you know like "Illegal alien" meaning a man or woman who isn't a registered citizen ...can anyone explain why Unicorn is in the kjv Bible ..and what dose it mean when I see the word "alien"

Thank you for anyone who takes the time to explain to me ..

I love my kjv Bible and Jesus

Surprisingly, as I was listening to audio play of the book of Job, unicorns are mentioned along with leviathan. I cannot explain whether this creature was understood as a different animal than the one spoken of today but please share if you find anything. Job 39:9-10

Hi, I just read about that last night. Inpre-20th century Websters' dictionary, a unicorn is a term used to describe a one horned rhinoceros rather than a bicorn, a two horned rhinoceros. I am not saying there was never anything like a real horse-like animal with a horn on its forehead. Perhaps there were, but they were just plain animals, not like the mythical ones. In our fantasy/mythological/occultic age we live in our minds have somewhat of a "go to" mindset when we encounter some of these terms. Not that any of us are involved in these things, but we do have a mental awareness of these ideas that affect our thinking somewhat.

    Have a good day.

    NOT OF THIS WORLD

We are pilgrims in a strange land

We are so far from our homeland

With each passing day it seems so clear

This world will never want us here

We're not welcome in this world of wrong

We are foreigners who don't belong

We are strangers, we are aliens

We are not of this world

We are envoys, we must tarry

With this message we must carry

There's so much to do before we leave

With so many more who may believe

Our mission here can never fail

And the gates of hell will not prevail

Jesus told us men would hate us

But we must be of good cheer

He has overcome this world of darkness

And soon we will depart from here

Song and lyrics by Petra. Go have a listen on YouTube, you'll love it.

What it's saying, is that our lives are hid in Christ. But while we're still here, sometimes people will heckle us for believing in Jesus. How can we deny Jesus, when we know He hung on a cross for our sins?

God is so holy that he cannot even look upon sin. He is a consuming Fire. That's why Jesus did what he did. He made it possible for us to be Gods children, by adoption. Our sins don't exist. They were thrown into the sea of forgetfulness. We have right standing with God now and forever.

Listen to that song. My other favorite, is Grave Digger :D

  • What About The Unicorns - In Reply - 3 years ago
Described as an animal of great ferocity and strength (Num. "23:22, R.V., "wild ox," marg., "ox-antelope;" 24:8; Isa. 34:7," "R.V., "wild oxen"), and untamable ( Job 39:9). It was in reality" a two-horned animal; but the exact reference of the word so rendered (reem) is doubtful. Some have supposed it to be the "buffalo; others, the white antelope, called by the Arabs rim." "Most probably, however, the word denotes the Bos primigenius" "("primitive ox"), which is now extinct all over the world. This" "was the auerochs of the Germans, and the urus described by" "Caesar (Gal. Bel., vi. 28) as inhabiting the Hercynian forest." The word thus rendered has been found in an Assyrian inscription "written over the wild ox or bison, which some also suppose to be" the animal intended (comp. Deut. 33:17; Ps. 22:21; 29:6; 92:10).

Use the Search Box on the opening page: type unicorn in the box, then read. Some Bible translations show the word unicorn changed.

Toy industries make billions on an extinct animal.

The Book of Job has lots more info on animalsalso a unicorn reference.

Hello, looks like you already got a good response to this.

The word unicorn in the dictionary doesn't only mean a mythical creature. It probably first meant a rare animal, such as having one (uni) horn, perhaps rhinocerous, antelope, ox, or... a unicorn (bad joke).
  • Catherine Gordon - In Reply - 3 years ago
Adam.. thank you for your input...that is probably right but I don't believe anything in the Bible is any bad joke...

we will find out sooner or later or when ever Jesus comes back.

I guess there's no real answer..until we ask God personally..wont that be so awesome !

    Thanks for the reply

    Catherine.
