Acts 10 v 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power : who went about doing good , and healing all that where oppressed of the devil ; for God was with him . V39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did .
A very fitting verse I read today . The word of God is so wonderful.
Faith, I agree. I believe the church began with Jesus' ministry at the time of His baptism when He called his first disciples. At Pentecost, the church existed already with the apostles and disciples gathered there in obedience to Jesus instructions. Jesus, before is ascension, before Pentecost, re-taught His disciples all that He had taught them before His crucifixion and resurrection. He opened up the Scriptures from the books of Moses' on to that present time to teach them about Himself. He was teaching His church at this time. He prayed for them at His Last Supper. They were the church then, breaking bread with him and drinking the wine of Communion. The church started with Jesus during His life on earth, in my opinion.
In verse 18 Jesus says all power is GIVEN unto me in heaven and earth .
Who is the superior one that gave him this power ? Must be his father God .
Verse 20 I am with you always , even unto the end of the world
He is speaking to his disciples , that would be the church .
How does one see a rapture pretrib in this statement ? It's not there .
A very fitting verse I read today . The word of God is so wonderful.
1 Peter 1:10-12 and did not start until pentecost.
Mathew 16 v 18
And I say unto thee thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church ; and the gates of hell will not prevail !
