    on Isaiah 11

Isaiah 11:6 should say 'Lion and Lamb' NOT wolf and other changes are also in this book changed by satan it is not the Books of our Lord any more. For those whom want to rebuke or argue about this ......, well I'm sorry you are blinded. For the rest of those seeing this watch for the many changes and follow your heart with a lot of prayers to our Lord for His truth already in your heart. The famine is here, the famine for His Word. Amen

And the lion shall lie down with the lamb." - Contemporary Quote, Not Bible. I would say that 99% of the people you ask would say that this quote can be found in the Bible. I went to the Bible to find the source. Yes, I knew exactly where in Isaiah to go, but to my disappointment it wasn't there. And so I checked different versions; King James, New King James, NIV, NAS, and others. Not in any of those either. So what's the story?

Like many of today's sayings, such as "you cannot change a leopard's spots", "pride goes before a fall", "a drop in the bucket", the quote "the lion shall lie down with the lamb" does have its origins in the Bible. However, the saying has morphed over the centuries to what we see and hear today. The original concept comes from these two passages in the book of Isaiah.

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them." - Isaiah 11:6 NKJV

"The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox." - Isaiah 65:25 NKJV

So the quote is more closely, "the wolf shall lie down with the lamb" or "the leopard shall lie down with the lamb". But of course, given that the lion is considered to be the king of beasts, and creates a greater contrast between predator and prey, the lion won the day. And so today when we seek peace, we look to the image put forth by the quote the lion shall lie down with the lamb as our picture of heaven.

Yes this is the Scripture reference for this common phrase. But it does say that the calf and the young lion and the fatling together. Maybe the fatling is a lamb.

Gigi, you are right. I googled fatling and it can be a lamb.

    fatling

    ftlng

    noun

A young animal, such as a lamb or calf, fattened for slaughter.

A lamb, kid, or other young animal fattened for slaughter; a fat animal: applied to quadrupeds the flesh of which is used for food.

A calf, lamb, kid, or other young animal fattened for slaughter; a fat animal; -- said of such animals as are used for food.

Pamala may i give ya my take on all the wild beasts in Isaiah 11 : 6.....My take is all these wild animals are just symbolic

of Humanity and their Wild Personalities, But the lil Child that leads them is their new innerman That Child of PROMISE

The H.G....That spirit of truth that Jesus said was gonna lead everybody....I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh....This Child

is Emanuel the H.G. God with them and leading them to his holy mountain As Isaiah 11 : 9 is saying... Hebrews 12 : 8

you are come unto mt Zion, the city of the living God That heavenly Jerusalem.Which is the Kingdom of God....Unless

ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child which is the lil Child that is leading them that Child that results from his Seed

Isaiah 11 : 11 The lord will set his hand again a 2 nd time to recover his ppl etc...This woman in Rev. 12 : 5 is humanity

that is being led by the Child she has given birth to that Child of Promise the H.G. And verse 10 says now is come Salvation and the Kingdom of our God etc....Plz note the Kingdom does not come till the Woman gives birth to manchild

Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise .Which is the multiplication of Christ via his seed sown in humanity...Jesus knew this woman, Her pregnancy is the result of his seed the WORDS OF THE NEW COVENANT,...The seeds of the Sower. The contents of the book he wrote with his own blood.

Whosoever receiveth one such Child in my name receiveth me,..Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise...Remember

Jesus said the H.G will come in my Name..impling his seed the Living WORD...Planted in our hearts..initiating a birth.

which is multiplication of his seed etc

No with all respect Pamela, no that is not correct, and Gods warning goes out to does who change His Word

    Revelation 22:19

[19]And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Pamela, I think this quote, "the lion shall lie down with the lamb' was popularized by the Elvis song, "Peace in the Valley" (a 1937 song written by Thomas Dorsey & sung by many others before Elvis made it hugely popular). I guess if something is said (or, sung) often enough, it is presumed to be biblical, if some connection is made to the actual reference.

Could you share which Bible you're reading it as, 'lion and lamb'? Does this affect Isaiah 66:25 as well? I would like to think that I'm not blinded because of such error - that's why I ask you to show me where I can find 'lion and lamb'. If there has been a change, where/when was it done?

The Holy Spirit which you cannot remove, reveal to Gods people Jesus is the Lamb that was slain for our sins on the cross, like a lamb He (Jesus ) didn't open His mouth.

Jesus is coming back soon this time as the triumphant King, the Lion

    Jesus is also the Lion!

The Holy Word is prophetic and revealed to those who has His Spirit by giving Jesus the throne in your heart.

In the 1000 years reign as King, the lamb ( Jesus) and the Lion (Jesus) is together in Jesus the same.

The Wolf is the enemy, antichrist, who will deceive people to recognize him as the King of the World, not so.

    Revelation 22:19

[19]And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book........

This is what I understand to be true after doing a little reading in my study bible.

The Davidic kingdom to be restored by Christ : it's character and extent

Isaiah 11 This chapter is a prophetic picture of the glory of the future kingdom, which will be set up when David's son returns in glory.

    Luke 1: 31-32; Acts 15:15-16

Isaiah 11:9 -10 They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,

For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD

    As waters cover the sea.

"And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse,

    Who shall stand as a banner to the people;

For the Gentiles shall seek Him,

And His resting place shall be glorious."

How Crist will set up the kingdom

    Isaiah 11:11-12

It shall come to pass in that day

That the LORD shall set His hand again the second time

    To recover the remnant of

    His people who are left,

    From Assyria and Egypt,

    From Pathros and Cush,

    From Elam and Shinar,

From Hamath and the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations,

And will assemble the outcasts of Israel,

And gather together the dispersed of Judah

From the four corners of the earth.

    Habakkuk 2:14

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD As waters cover the sea.

Zechariah 12:8 "In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them."

    The moral characteristics of the kingdom are to be righteousness and peace. The meek, not the proud , will inherit the earth; longevity will be greatly increased; the knowledge of the LORD will be universal;

    beast-ferocity will be removed;

absolute equity will be enforced; and open sin will be visited with instant judgement; whereas the enormous majority of earth's inhabitants will be saved Psalms 2:9; Isaiah 11:4,6-9; 26:9; 65:20; Zacharia 14:16-21

The NT Revelation 20:1-5 adds a detail of immence significance
