I was looking that up just now and I remembered Why I stopped studying angels and other beings. Specifically because we are not to promote them above or equal to the Godhead.
Because of my background and salvation experience, I did not want to learn Catholic ideas. I made that decision because of the Apocrypha; which was Not Canonized into the KJV.
I do not want to tell others how demons and wicked human spirits collaborate.
The one fact that is one we must adhere to, is to not rank the angels or the demonic. To me that is the Godheads territory completely.
I will offer this one testimony to warn. My neck was almost broken. That's when I found out we can plead the Blood of Jesus with our born again spirit!! Whatever pulled "it" off me was big. I heard body blows outside an open window. I looked and the fight was invisible.
I confronted my Aunt (medium) for trying to sell my mother on a book, the Roswell Incident. My aunt didn't even blink. She said, why do you think it was written? I didn't blink: For Money, For Deception, To capture Souls.
I've had other confrontations, which the Lord delivered me from death.
In Acts, a most deadly viper crawled out of the fire and bit Apostle Paul. Everyone waited for him to die_ but he didn't. I love that story!
ALL OF OUR FAITH must be firmly rooted in Gods Love and Purpose in our lives. Life isn't a movie. If we need Help, go to the Godhead.
Satan has no authority to hurt us.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is our Salvation in all ways, no matter what. DO what He said to be doing. Don't meddle in the spiritual world.
What I learned, I use it in my prayer closet. Jesus anoints us to pray for others. That's where the fight is. Wise as a serpent; mild as a dove. Read How Jesus delivered people from ILLEGAL persecution from the realm of darkness.
Furnish your "house" and garnish it with the WORD OF GOD (Bible). Jesus prefaced scriptures with IT IS WRITTEN.! That's our example.
And we have a prayer request link on this site people can use to exercise that authority by praying for these requests. Let's endeavor to ensure that every request is responded to with a post that prays for the request. This way, the one who posts a request is blessed to know the request was prayed for and be encouraged and have their faith increase as we care for one another in this way.
Jim No I have no Idea what your saying since God created life in mary by creating seed that would go with her
egg human side which would explain sinless blood. Since he also had spirit that would make perfect because he
always walked perfectly and did the fathers will. God didn't break any of the laws he set up for His son to be born
live perfectly and pay for our sins and complete His Ministry at Gods Right Hand. I don't know how your reading my replies because for the most part I agree. So if looking for argument or to prove your point I don't do that no profit!
Proof of Spirit remember Came down like as a dove.
For me, I always recommend reading the gospels first do one can become familiar
With the life, deeds, words, and person of Jsus as a first thing. He is the he central person if our faith and all of Scripture is really about and for Him as it points to
Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This is the first reference of the Lord Jesus Christ. Death has been a sentence give to her and Adam. The promises seed will reverse that.
Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
What animal died so that they could be covered. Lamb? Slain from the foundation of the earth.
Abram later called Abraham was promised a seed through Sarah. That seed is Christ. See Matt 1:1
Take a look and see what you think. There is a theme through the scriptures.
There are promises given to Abraham that have not been fulfilled yet.
Gen 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
It is given to Abram for ever. Abraham is still in the grave. He will have to be raised from the dead and give immortality.
I'm positive this will happen. He is promised the land and a seed. That seed is Christ.
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Gen 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Isaac and his seed was also promised the land.
Gen 26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
Gen 26:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
Gen 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Jacobs name is changed to Israel and he also is given the same promise.
Gen 35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
Gen 35:12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
It is important that we have a correct understanding
Luk_13:28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
No I don't think so. Consider Luk 13:22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. This suggest a period of time after talking to the ruler.
This message is to those who think they are doing Gods will.
Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Luk 13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Luk 13:26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
Luk 13:27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
You mentioned an apple and I would agree it just says the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The lamb I believe is different. Adam and Eve needed proper covering. They covered themselves with fig leaves. Fig leaves will not cover our sins. The lamb of God will. Jesus in John 1:29,36 is called the lamb of God. When the eunuch was preach to by Philip ( Act 8:32-35) the eunuch was reading from the passage in Isaiah 53:7. Philip preached unto his Jesus. Described as a lamb. When the children of Israel in Egypt were preparing for the passover so that the angel of death didn't kill their first born. A lamb was used. Exodus 12:1-14
When Abraham was taking Isaac to be sacrificed Isaac asked him where the lamb was. It must have been a animal used for burnt offerings.
Gen 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.Abraham also believed in the resurrection. Consider Hebrews 11
Heb 11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
Heb 11:18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
Heb 11:19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.Notice how important the promises are. What promises is he talking about? The whole chapter is about the promise.
Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
Abraham as of today has not yet recieved the promise.
I'm running out of space. I'II have to start another dialog box to finish this.
even though we don't know if it was a lamb they received adam and eve, the bible is explaining here that something has to die for our sins, i.e us and our Lord and savor
I'll never give up, Its the most important thing in life to get right. Worship No God but me is pretty straightforward, And the scripture you shared, I see where you can see that, But If I'm gonna take a chance of worshipping another God, There has to be better scripture somewhere telling me its ok. I have prayed to Jesus since I was a kid, I'm 60 now, The questioning isn't coming from me, Its coming from what I've read so far, Hard to reconcile God wouldn't make it the easiest thing to find.
I'll keep reading, and thank you so much for your time my friend
Hello Rick. You've raised too many issues here to properly deal with, so I might just throw in a few things.
You wrote: "If I'm gonna take a chance of worshipping another God...". There is no other God - God is One God, none beside Him & Who will not give His Glory to another ( Isaiah 42:8). If Jesus was a separate creation, a product of human sexual union, & you worshipped Him, then yes, you & I should fear worshipping another god. But this Jesus to whom you have given worship & made petition, did not enter the world by that means, but from within God's Being. John 8:42, Jesus said: "If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me." The word used here for 'proceeded' & 'came from', is 'ek or ex'= to come out of, meaning that Jesus is stating that His coming was from within God, that it was God's Initiative to send Him & not His.
Yet your pressing search is for the mention of Jesus in the Torah. I'm not sure why, since the Jews themselves will search not only the Torah, but the Prophets, & the Writings for their Messiah. If we remember this aspect of Jewish history: Israel was a special people; they were still sinners before God; God provided a sacrifice system to appease Him & keep Israel always conscious of their sins; this sacrifice would continue until the coming Messiah, Who would become God's only acceptable Sacrifice to redeem them. But what happened? What was written about God's Provision was given to Israel in the Tanakh (TNK) (T=Torah; N=Neviim; K=Ketuvim) ( Luke 24:44), but they could not see it/they could not discern the messages (right from Genesis 3:15). No, we don't see Jesus' Name in the Torah or anywhere else in the OT; Jesus only became Jesus at His Birth ( Luke 1:31,32); but we see God in the whole Bible & His Plan to bring HIS Salvation to all. We could ask, 'why did God bring forth a human (a Son) to be sacrificed? Wouldn't a perfect spotless lamb made by Him suffice?'
Thanks for replying , Yeah I miss worded that, In another God. I have gotten enough info on this site to look at it a different way, I have worshipped Jesus my whole life (60) , It was when reading the Torah, I was perplexed, I didn't see God letting anyone share space with him as god, But was given the very first sentence saying Elohim (meaning God or Gods, if Plural) But also as one.God sent me to the right place, Thank you and everyone else on this site for helping, and now I know where to go.
Thanks for replying Rick. Stay with it - read the Scriptures (the Old & New Testaments) with this in mind: God's Love knows no bounds as He is just that, a loving God as well as a Just God dealing with us as sinners. He made the provision for every person to come to know Him, even those who've never heard of Him but look to that One, someone greater & more 'merciful' than their idols, coming in faith & expectancy that their redemption must come from above.
Would a perfect lamb sufficed as a Sacrifice? Maybe it would as it would have been God-provided & God-accepted to make full atonement. But then again, how deep & unfathomable is the Father's Love, that by not only providing a Sacrifice that we could not provide, but that He gave of that one Sacrifice that could never be transcended in any possible way: Himself. This alone gives us much weight of assurance & great joy when we read in 1 John 3:16: "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." And, John 15:13: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Do I see Jesus in the OT? Maybe not His Name, but certainly the Promise & expectancy of His Coming at the appointed time to give both Jew & Gentile salvation that none can separate or rob us of ( Romans 8:38,39). Praise Him often for His mercies He has showered upon you, giving you life & hope that so many spurn, rejecting His Offer of eternal life.
I'd keep reading. Seek the truth and open yourself to learn who God really is and what He will reveal to you. Pray for wisdom and understanding. I wouldn't stop after one section and make conclusions before you take the entire context of the Bible into account. There are logical explanations for your questions.
For your food question if you continued reading you would have naturally found Acts 10. There is much more info in the New Testament about what law applies today, because there is moral law, civil law, and ceremonial law. The latter two were specific to Israelites. You would also read a verse like this: Matthew 5:17-20
Regarding your other questions you would eventually read verses like these:

is the epitome of what God in Christ desired for man. For by grace are we saved through faith and that not of

deserve it or walk by it that is the grace.

its like who ever said they ate an apple, but again our imaginations try to speak louder than scripture to our
detriment. When we elevate our natural based thinking and apply to scripture then we start well maybe God
mean't this or that when in reality that's questioning what it states and working by assumption instead of
letting Gods Word speak for itself. There are many things written that are in the category of we DON"T KNOW
and why were not supposed to. But we do know 2 Timothy 3:16+17 and that says a lot.

15 and most if not all of those were corrupt. The key to this discussion is Abraham and those before the law
believed God and it was counted unto them for righteousness then when the law which nobody walked all the time
untill our Saviour who fulfilled and completed the law. Those doing the best they could by the law Luke 1:6
Zacharias and Elisabeth were blameless in the law it doesn't say faultless! Now as it says Hebrews 11:8-10 by faith
or believing Abraham looked for a city who's builder and maker was God does that not describe Paradise to come.
