Understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the mormon perspective. How does it differ (if at all) from the Christian (baptist) teachings?

    John

Ideally, we should make use of every opportunity to share the truth about Jesus and salvation. I think it is probably important to become informed about Mormon doctrines and how it deviates from Scripural doctrines. That way we will be prepared to converse from a standpoint of readiness. If you have Mormons in your sphere, then I would say, yes, speak to them. Not everyone knows a Mormon. But some of us know a Jehovah Witness, or Christian Scientist, or Muslim. We should prayerfully engage with those who believe falsely about Jesus or deny God altogether as it isn't so much about pointing out where they are wrong but winning them for Christ. We should be respectful and willing to answer their inquiries to us and listen to them explain their faith. And praying that God opens doors to their hearts to hear the true gospel.

    Hi John

For one, I believe that Mormomism teach s that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers.

And they teach that God progresses, therefore He changes. They teach that Jesus became a god after His ascension and that we will progress to become gods, too.

These views are at variance to Biblical Christian teachings held by the Church over the centuries.

    Hello John,

I myself have had many beautiful discussions with Mormons & Jehovah Witnesses. I'm sorry if I mix up the teachings. 1st I want to say many of both, are very kind, I liked just about everyone I encountered. With few exceptions. However, many scriptural discussions seemed to point to teaching that was not in-line with JKV HOLY Bible.

1st important 1= Galatians 1:3-10, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, teach don't believe another gospel even if an Angel brings, Mormons have a "new" teaching brought from "An Angel".

2nd Book of Mormon, addition to Bible? Psalms 89:34, Rev. 22:18, Deuteronomy 12:32,

3rd Mormons teach that Women can't be prophets untrue : Judges 4:4, Luke 2:36, Joel 2:28.

4th & maybe most important Mormons don't believe CHRIST Jesus is who HE says HE is. : Isaiah 53, Psalms 22, John 19, John 1,

    Why do you ask?

Baptist are supposed to believe in Scripture.

I myself like to stick to the WORD of GOD. Those two are not your only choices. The choices really come down to the WORD itself here's some : John 3:15-16, Matthew 25:31-46, James 1:26-27, John 14:16,

    Hopefully this is helpful.

    Why do I ask?..

Knowing that there is a doctrine, from the Mormon teachings, that contradict scripture, wouldn't it be the duty of all Christians to (at the very least) help show the people of the Mormon faith that God does not change?
