It's simple to get saved, but the process of sanctification is hard. Before I elaborate, I assume you're referring how a sodomite can get saved; "gay" biblically means cheerful, "sodomy/sodomite" means those who practice same sex fornication.
You meet God in his own terms:
1.) You have to be in a broken and contrite state.
Psalms 51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
2.) You call upon Jesus to save you.
Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
3.) Put your faith in the Lord. (Take note that the eunuch called upon the Lord, he didn't just believe his way to salvation)
Acts 8:37 "And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
If you followed these steps, then you are saved; you will have assurance of your salvation as it'll come through chastening, if you don't have any chastening in your life, then you're not saved.
Hebrews 12:7
"If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?"
I know people in this lifestyle and they have reservations about becoming a Christian because they know they will have to admit that their lifestyle is sinful. This means, to repent, they will have to deny who they believe themselves to be. Doing this is somewhat a crisis for them as their sense of self is so tied up with this orientation, as they truly believe it is truly who they are. So, not knowing Jesus, they do not understand the freedom we receive by denying self and living for Jesus. It is a big leap for these people over a large barrier. I pray for those I know. We should all pray for those deceived and trapped in this lifestyle, as it is very hard for them to make a turn-about concerning it. I am not saying they need to turn from it in order to come to Jesus. This turning comes after, by grace. But their minds are blinded and, although they know that serving Jesus would entail turning from this lifestyle, they do not understand the power of God's grace yet, so don't think they can change who they see themselves as being.
Good question! Just like anyone else, everyone must obey the plan of salvation. You will find it in Acts 2:38. When we let go of our will and conform to God's will, His Spirit is able to come and live inside of us and that gives us power to live a holy life unto Him.
Hi Diana. I would say that a 'gay' person would be saved as any other sinner. First, to acknowledge that they are sinners like we all are - that a homosexual lifestyle is sin & unacceptable to God; then, to come to the foot of the Cross gazing upon the Holy One of God Who sacrificed His Life to make them clean & whole again. When we truly repent of our sin & old ways, pursuing after sinful thoughts & acts, then the Lord forgives & accepts us. Isaiah 55:7: "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." And that pardon is fully realized through His Son Who made it possible for all who turn to Him in faith & love.
And through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, our desires & lusts also change or removed when we wholly look to Him for power & deliverance. That is the chief work of God's Spirit: to conform us each day to the Image of Jesus ( Romans 8:29:
"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." Healing of mind, spirit & sometimes body begin to happen. Desires for same gender intimacy will fade away, with power to live a different lifestyle & for the Glory of God. The road may not be easy at first, but the Lord Who saves completely also has the Power to bring healing to sin-affected minds who now desire to only serve Him.

If you're still confused, ask Jesus to show you the way to salvation, he'll give you wisdom.
James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I fully Concur with brother Chris.
God bless.
