    Michael

"I love Jesus, and I have confessed Him as Lord and Savior. I was high up in the music industry, and I still have a problem with cocaine. I do not party with anyone, and I read the bible and pray. My pastor's want me to become a teacher at our church. I buy cocaine two or three times a month and lock myself up in my room. I don't understand if it is a curse or what, but I do not know what to do."

    Michael,

    I will pray for you,

Dear Jesus, Deliver Michael from cocaine dependency. Thank You for saving him. Fulfill is desire to be free of cocaine use and all of the residual effects of the music industry's influence. Use his musical gifts for Your glory from now one. Break the hold that has taken him in this way and continues to override is resolve to stop using. Make Michael strong in You and empower him to refuse to give in to temptations. Give his pastor wisdom in helping Michael, offering support and care as he gets free of drug use. We ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen.

    Michael,

For now, I think it is unwise for you to be a teacher in the church. Teachers need to be above reproach in conduct, and you are not there yet until you are delivered from drug use, which is a hard road to go through. Thankfully, the Spirit will help you as he continues to sanctify you day by day. Don't give up, God is always faithful. He will deliver you. Trust Him. Be ever prayerful, and ask for strength to refuse to take a step into the direction of temptations, circumstances and people who would lead you to use again. I am sorry that you have this to go through. I look forward to hearing about your deliverance and how God rescued you and uses you. Look up and have hope!

    Dear friends in Jesus.

Luke 6:20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

23Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

27But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankfull and to the evil

36Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. And the rest now space here God bless you.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for having the courage to share that and to seek possible wisdom from others. There are many who have suffered from addictions but have successfully escaped the bondage of that situation. It will likely be a multi-prong approach where you may need to utilize several strategies for the motivation to escape the destructive habit.

I found a page of verses on strongholds:

    Link

I personally don't believe you have a demon based on the information you shared. Satan sometimes wants us to believe there's something inherantly wrong with us where we don't deserve or can't escape sin, but beware of lies from the devil. That's not true, millions of people have escaped such bondage of addiction and broken free from horrible destructive habits and found freedom and a new joy in a life liberated from that. But it will likely require support from others and support from God. Pray for help and really mean it. You also have some personal decisions to make. Obviously part of you is not totally convinced you want to break free from it yet. I would shine light on that and ask what exactly keeps you attached to it, so you can figure out your motivations and what to replace it with. I would definitely seek support through counseling, groups, online support, friends to keep you accountable, anything and everything.

    God bless.

Thank you Adam. I so desire to be free, and I am seeking help. I read the strong hold scriptures, and I printed them to read often. I have just felt so isolated, because it is not like it was when I was in the world. I used to party, but now I buy it and just hide out. I feel horrible about myself, and this leads to more isolation. I want this cycle to be broken in Jesus name. I appreciate your encouraging words. May God Bless you!
