    Matthew Chapter 15

    15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

    16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

    17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? (Bathroom)

    18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

    Good afternoon Glenn,

    I agree, that as much as we are able, we should eat healthy foods. But Scripture does not tell us that explicitly.

    In generations and centuries past most people ate what ever food they could muster up depending on their level of wealth or lack of it. People starve all over our world today for lack of food. Some people can grow organic plant foods but protein sources are scarce and so they are still malnourished. Organic foods are more expensive than non-organic, and many people on tight budgets have to make choices according to what they can afford. So, I don't think it is a sin to eat any type of food. It is wise however, to limit what we know is less healthy if eaten in excess or in the absence of more healthy food that is available to a person. So, I won't pass judgment on anyone for what foods they eat or choose not to eat. Just speaking another perspective here, not criticizing your thoughts, because I do agree that our bodies do better when we eat healthy foods.

    I don't believe that eating halal food is wrong or leads to sin. Halal essentially means 'whatever is lawful or permitted', so to this end, Muslims have to meet certain criteria before their food can be declared 'halal'. Without going into all the requirements, the food has to be of a certain type (i.e. not an 'unclean' product); if it is animal to be slaughtered, it is to be killed under strict rules, including a recitation of doing so in the Name of Allah (God); it has to be carried out by a Muslim.

    Those Christians living in Muslim countries generally only have access to halal food, whether from the butcher shop or grocery stores, unless they do the killing themselves & only eat produce grown in their gardens & have their own milk supply - and not many do. Halal food is not food offered to idols as what pantheistic temple worshippers practise (Muslims worship the one God, albeit not the biblical revelation of One & True God) - their food is simply food that meets strict requirements & in my understanding & experience, eating halal food should not trouble our hearts. But if our conscience is weak over the matter, then one should refrain from partaking. You could look at 1 Corinthians 10:25-31 for an instance of how we can deal with this matter before the Lord & for our own consciences.

    Hallo Random, Acts15:28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

    29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

    God bless u in Jesus Holy Name
