Wouldn't the two witnesses during the Tribulation be Elijah and Enoch, and not Elijah and Moses, since they were the only ones mentioned in the Bible as not tasting death? 2 Kings 2:11 and Genesis 5:24. Since man is only appointed once to die and Rev 11 says the 2 witnesses will come, be killed, and live again.

    Thank you.

But there is a second death the 1st death isn't death it's sleep and it says it's sleep over and over again Adan and Eve died but after they were still living and had children. So there is a physical death and a spiritual death. Did Jesus die was it physical or spiritual. here is what i tell people for Rev they know all about it but missed the most important part, Rev1:2Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. What is it we are to keep? 1 Corinthians 13:12

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

    Hi Dennis:

I believe both men is a great witness stating that there is hope for the return of Jesus Christ redeeming His people, where the died in Christ in will be ressurected and caught up in the air with the saints of God.

    Hi Denise.

Those two along with Moses would be the front runners according to most people, but who knows?

Here's the verse why some say Elijah and Enoch. Hebrews 9:27.

They attach Moses because of the plagues is like the plagues in Egypt.

    Mose died in Deuteronomy 34:5.

    God bless.

    Hello S Spencer,

Thanks for your reply. Someone had suggested that Encoch would not be a candidate because he was a Gentile! Good point I must agree. However, I'm still trying to digest the Hebrews 9:27 passage "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:". But then I read a commentary from Dr. Peter Ruckman who pointed out that many people had died twice. Jarius' daughter, Lazarus, Dorcas, Eutychus and the son of the widow of Nain.

Thanks again for your reply and I will be interested to hear if you have any other thoughts.

    God Bless you!

    Hi again Dennis

    Who is Dr. Peter Ruckman?
  • Glenn - In Reply - 2 years ago
Who were the two on the mount of transfiguration with Jesus ? Moses & Elijah,.. but no one really knows,.. but the good lord himself

    Hi Glenn,

Thanks for your thoughts. On further review, Enoch was a Gentile, so he's probably ruled out as a witness, so we're back to Elijah and Moses. Now regarding Hebrews 9:27 that reads once to die and then the judgement, Dr. Ruckman has pointed out that many have died twice including Lazarus. But you are right, the good Lord knows!

    Thank you Brother.

    Dennis

I have thought about that, too. It seems that it may be Enoch and Elijah for the reason you stated. But also, we are not told how Moses departed this world. He may have been translated also since both he and Elijah appears with Jesus at the Transfiguration.

    Hi Gigi,

The scriptures tell us that Satan and Michael fought over Moses' bones, so we can safely assume he did indeed die. But Dr. Ruckman has pointed out that many have died twice including, and perhaps the most famous, Lazarus. Also, I've discovered that Enoch was a Gentile, so he's probably not going to be one of the two witnessess.

Thanks for your comments and God bless you Sister!

    Dear Dennis,

You are right about the disputed over Moses' body between the Archangrlicharl and the devil. ( Jude 9)

So, he must have died. What Michael did with his body, we don't know, but perhaps his body was taken up and was glorified rather than buried and decayed.

As to Enoch bring a Gentile, there were not any Jews or Gentiles before the Flood.

But there was an Enoch in the line of Cain; and an Enoch in the line of Seth. It was the Seth line Enoch (great grandfather of Noah) that walked with God and was translated.
