Some older editions of the Authorized Version use "our's" rather than "ours" (cf 1 John 2:2) "And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world (the Old Scofield, the Allen 1952 text used in their Longprimer, etc.).

Was this common usage in Elizabethan English during the 1500's and 1600's? Do you know when it was revised? I didn't realize the original Authorized Version had ever undergone revisions.

    Thank you

The Cambridge version, if you download the KJV off of this site the preface has the entire account from the transcribers to the readers and explains it all there. it's pretty Indepth and detailed I'm not sure if that version is in the Parallel view on this site or not. but honestly what does it matter really ours or our's when ours by itself means belonging to. But you'll find the answer there, it's 17 pages long

Thank you. I will read it. The example I cited certainly doesn't matter. It was simply the item I noticed that alerted me to possible KJV revisions, and I'd like to learn more about that. I would like to see further examples of how the text has evolved. Again, thank you for your help.
