Bible Discussion Thread

What will happen to the USA according to The Bible, Revelations? It seems that this country is left out, or burned. If so, are it's citizens doomed, or are there some that are saved. I would love to hear any views or ideas about interpretations on this subject.

Dear Shelly: I have studied this subject; although am cautious being dogmatic as the more pressing issue of fulfilling the Great Commission has been more of the focus of my time in recent years. There is a strong argument from Jeremiah in particular that the USA is indeed "mystery Babylon" and therefore would be relegated to complete destruction by fire. Some things bolstering that argument are the port called "Babylon" near New York City; the statue of liberty being a pagan symbol of mixes of all peoples and the city itself being a center of world trade. We also can look at how abortion; pornography; and indeed modern warfare being successfully waged from the enormous military resources and economic prosperity in this nation; often derived from such massive armaments. Much as Israel; we have descendants of true believers here who have apostasized after evangelizing much of the world in earlier centuries; and we seem to be the origin of much of the Laodicean church prophesied to overtake much of the world in the last days.

There seems to be clear evidence that the original geographic area of Babylon; due to activities of the Pope promoting such tings is heading for a mega-worship building incorporating an ecumenical blend of Islam; Christianity and Judaism soon; as well as plans for a mega city in that area as well said to be 30 times the size of NYC; and controlled by drones with all sorts of fancy ultramodern conveniences.

There seems to be two phases to Babylon's destruction; the first by the Beast himself after the midpoint of the Tribulation; when he demands all worship for himself and destroys the false religious system; and the later one by God where total destruction for Babylon (likely the economic one) occurs. There are ample warnings to "flee Babylon" beforehand so as not to be part of the destruction. The final destruction probably correlates with the bowl judgments where ALL the towers and cities of the world are levelled.

I just want to encourage You to lean on Jesus for all You need for salvation. Please know that God takes you jet as you are when you call on Him. I encourage you to pray, which is simply bringing our needs to God for supply and help.

Ask Him to increase your faith and open your mind, spirit, and heart to understanding His Words as you read the Bible. No one needs to have complete perfect understanding of the Bible or matters of faith to be accepted by God. We are accepted by Grace through faith in Jesus and His saving actions of suffering and dying for us and removing our sins from us. Instead of standing before God with all of our sins covering us, we are covered by the righteousness of Jesus Christ as He lived a perfectly righteous life for us. I pray that your heart will be uplifted in knowing Christ and filled with joy and peace from the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.

The Lord never depended on man's heart to do his will, Especially when dealing with Israel.

The Lord would condition man's heart to line up with his will, at the same time judge them righteously.

1) We see this with the Jews in Egypt, God conditioned the Pharoah heart for Joseph going in to Egypt.

2) We see the Lord condition the Pharoah heart "Hardened it" for his purpose when he led them out of Egypt.

You see this similar occasion in Babylon, Persia ect.

The Lord builds up for his purpose whether it's a nation or a man to run a nation, He's able to do that without neglecting to judge that Nation.

One of my favorite examples is

Isaiah 45:1-7.

It was God that blessed those Nations to serve his purpose.

It was God that blessed United States to serve his purpose.

It was God put it on their hearts.

It was God put it on the U.S heart.

I dont believe it was originally in our hearts to support Israel,

The United States, Cuba, and Canada turned a ship of refugees back right before World War 2. and "BEFORE" the holocaust.

And also Hitler put a redemption price on the Jews for two dollars a head.

We could have bought them.

There is only one Nation in focus when it comes to prophecy and that's Israel.

There will be people gathered out of "EVERY NATION"to go be with the Lord in the rapture. The world and all these Nations will go on.

Some people think blessing Israel is an Atonement for Past, Present, and Future sins.

But we must humble ourselves and realize it's God who raises and builds up, and it's God who protects Israel and always did.

of doom.

I have prayed for truth and feel like I want to be with God, and know that the only way is Jesus. But I struggle to read the Bible, as I feel like I'm not understanding it. The part that says many will be lost because of lack of knowledge

really gets to me. I'm not educated, but do feel like I can see truth where others can't. But then second guess myself, wondering if it's me being brainwashed too. I know Satan is very smart and cunning.

Several thoughts for Shelley. It would be well to keep Daniel 11 in mind as you peruse the book of Revelation in terms of any End Times discussion. Though the middle east, Israel and Russia appear to be the focal point of much discussion in the eschatological conversation, it does not of necessity mean America is forsaken or forgotten, especially in light of its historic ties with Israel and massive missions thrust. It would be hard to argue from silence the irrelevance of America in the End Times, anymore than it would be to say "since Zimbabwe, Paraguay or Iceland are not mentioned, then they must be forsaken or burned up." The relevant point is that Israel will be the center of the Lord's purposes; any other countries mentioned will be so with respect to their involvement directly or indirectly with Israel.

There is no place in the bible that mentions the USA in end-time prophecy. All end-time prophecy centers on the nation of Israel.
