Do we have to be submerged in water for a true baptism. To receive the holy ghost?
  • Free - In Reply - 3 years ago
We also need to think about all the years have passed since Luther when it was almost in the law to baptised children. So it was suitable for the Church that it is wrote in the Bible. So the opposites powers and authorities have done something here too confusing the ppl.

Be blessed all ppl to listening what the Spirit says about baptism. It is not time to stand by principles. But in the Spirit and Truth seek the Lord and remain impartial.

Be blessed in His Holy Name Jesus Christ with word from Matthew 25.

    Michael,

Jesus was baptized, and so were all of the original apostles, and they were submerged in water. If, for whatever reason one can't be submerged in water, for medical issues or other true concerns, I believe God will know this, and understand. But, to just say - no I'm not doing it, is not following God's commands. Like saying the thief on the cross was not baptized and was saved, so I will do the same, does not honor God's command that we be baptized, and it is a mockery.

Jesus instructed his apostles to go out into the world and baptize:

    Matthew 28:19 Context

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

If we believe in what Jesus states in this scripture, and much other scripture, yes we must be baptized.

    Read and believe.

Good afternoon Bro Dan, I was wondering about you since we hadn't heard from you for a while.

It seems that the topic of baptism comes up on this forum every 3 or 4 weeks in the past few months. It usually gets a fair amount of exchange among posters. I do think that is a good thing because someone new has asked a question concerning this topic and the site does not keep prior posts about this and other topics very long.

Thank you for your stand on this. I agree with you. I just cannot brush away the commands of Jesus on this as I have not found a place in the NT that explicitly says that baptism as these apostles knew it at the time Jesus gave His command (water baptism) was ever rescinded or replaced with the "baptism of the Holy Spirit". But many on here will present their rebuttal on this like in the past. It is important to speak to this. So thank you.

    Sister GiGi,

Thanks for responding. Recently, family and related issues have been keeping my attention. Although, I try to check in here periodically, and read many posts, but regrettably, I don't always have the time to give response.

Glad to see you are a regular here, love your posts, and glad that you are sharing God's Words!

    God Bless.

    John 3

After being born again by praying to receive Jesus; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

Go to the link on the red page: Become A Believer, and work through the Bible teaching on how to become a follower of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, your Helper, and Your Teacher. As you read scripture, every day, ask Him to help you to understand how it applies to you now. Start in the Gospels and head towards Revelation. Every time we read Revelation, we receive a blessing from the Lord. (Chapter 1) The book of Isaiah has many prophesies about Jesus. Before He came to earth to save His people (us). He promised_ he fulfilled each and everyone prophesy. We can have confidence that He will fulfill what has been set down and recorded.

He will draw close to YOU, if you will draw close to Him. If you sin (we all fail sometimes), read 1 John chapter 1, chapter 2:1-2, all of it truly.

1 John 3:11. We can't fellowship with sin anymore. It takes effort to cling to Jesus for our guidance. Find a BIBLE teaching Church; even if it's on the FM radio.

Coming by here is a way of fellowship. Everyone loves to share. Just always compare what you hear, with scripture.

Learn how to use the SEARCH ENGINE on this website. Explore everything :D

We pray for everyone that asks for prayer. So put this site on your Google desktop. Drop in anytime! Some of us are nightowls lol

Ephesians 6 tells us who the real enemies are, to our walk with God. We all get opposed by the devils. Say what Jesus said, in the Gospels.

May the Lord bless you and keep you close to his vest, and keep you encouraged as you walk with Him.

Do you need Baptized in water after the Holy Ghost came the Bible says one baptism, guy you are opening a can of worms here there are more opinions on it then churches. The thief on the cross wasn't baptized and Jesus said to him, today I shall see you in paradise. But it's good to be baptized for the remission of sin and if you study it being fully submersed symbolizes being buried with Christ and rising with Christ and being a new creature. Use the search box type baptism, baptized and read it and study it 2 Corith 13:12 study to show thyself approved...............

I know all that, Charles. Most people know water baptism follows salvation. Sooner rather than later.

"My people perish for lack of knowledge"

Not everyone knows that, upon Salvation; they are given the gift of the Holy Spirit, by Jesus. Indwelling within their spirit. Book of John teaches it.

That's why we need people to lead the lambs to the good SHEPHERD; of the Bible.

Jesus calls. We follow. He appoints. We follow.

We preach the GOSPEL__which is Jesus Christ:

Birth, life, death, resurrection. He made disciples__we make disciples. It's a five fold ministry: open your hand. The thumb is the apostle, the forefinger is the prophet; the middle is the teacher, ring finger the Pastor that carries Jesus's lambs, the little finger-the evangelist. The thumb touches upon all 4 fingers (Jesus).

Apostles are those who saw the risen Christ with their eyes. They were Sent to plant churches. Quite possibly they are missionaries that Go Ye all around the Globe_planting churches; building schools.

Don't disparage on what other Disciples are doing. Most of us are doing what The Holy Spirit shows us to be doing. Our work: good, bad, or whatever, is unto the Lord Jesus. There will be the Bema Seat Judgment to sort out the wood, hay or stubble_later. Jesus knows what's in our hearts, all along the way.

I've been an evangelist for 30+ years, over 4 states. I've moved 22 times. I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the POWER OF GOD unto Salvation. I love my life and it wakes me up happy, every day. I fix things I can, and give those I can't; to Jesus.

I am a story teller, not a scholar. I'm nothing without the Holy Spirit. I worship Jesus with my life; but the Spirit of Christ is the Holy Spirit and my beloved friend. We sing together sometimes. He doesn't even mind if I sing like a frog. I keep hoping for a miracle :D for other peoples sakes.

I'm 70 and I've witnessed the final generation:

The Terminal generation of the Fig Tree.
