What is the meaning of "eth" at the end of verbs?

Hello Ray, from a quick search I found:

"In Middle and Early Modern English, -eth was used as the third person singular conjugation."

As evidence of this Shakespeare (1564-1616) used some of this, like "He purposeth to Athens; whither, with what haste" and "Canidius marcheth with his land army one way over" from Antony and Cleopatra. And the original KJV was published 1611.
