The deception has been laid, what will we be spared? There is a difference between God's wrath, org meaning; anger, wrath, passion; punishment, vengeance. and tribulation thlipsis meaning; persecution, affliction, distress. The beast will be given time to inflict tribulation on the saints in the world and overcome them, Revelation 13:5-7, as God gave Satan, Job 1:12Job 2:6. Satan's last shot, because he knows his time is short, Revelation 12:12.
The adversary, with this deception, has manipulated scripture to have many believing the great tribulation and the wrath of God to be the same thing and will be spared going through it. This started developing in the 1700s, and what a deception, a beautiful picture of glorious colors of truth, masterfully painted on a canvas of lies. How many will be deceived by the miracles that will be done by the false prophet, Revelation 13:13-15, and fall away? Or those facing death, and who are overcome by the fear of death, take the mark.
A similar picture of what is to come has happened in the past. Decius/Decian persecution in 250 AD, a decree that Christians had to prove their loyalty to paganism and the emperor, ordered that sacrifices to idols be performed in the presence of a Roman magistrate. It was a signed and witnessed certificate issued. People had to perform a sacrifice to the Roman gods and the emperor.
A great number of Christians were put to death for refusing to perform the sacrifices, many others apostatized (falling away) and performed the ceremonies thinking they could still be a Christian in secret. Others went into hiding. The Decian persecution was the severest on Christians at that time and the loss suffered by the apostasy (falling away). What is coming will be more severe and worldwide.
Did God spare them? If not, should we be? Have we exalted ourselves more worthy? Are you ready, praying that our faith shall not fail, even if facing death?
more even so will your lamp be filled, and will you have increased the talent/s' he gave you, I don't buy into you can say Jesus's name and then do whatever you want when the whole point is to escape God's wrath promised on the disobedient so how can we turn to disobedience ourselves, I understand Grace, but I also understand it doesn't excuse us or rather permit us to commit sins. There is grace, mercy and forgiveness for a reason there are also sins out of our knowing and sins of our knowing. How many times does it say, if you hold fast until the end or steadfast until the end or those who endure? repent and be baptized for the remission of sin, that sin is still there it just lays dormant within us, We are mis understanding being saved, saved from what? God's wrath it says it add Paul says Each of you should work your own salvation, say what? didn't Jesus us do that? Add that God will judge the secretes of man's heart and we will be weighed in the balance, say what? What happened to grace? What about the crown and jewels we can earn? And then in Rev there in the mist is the tree of life with 12 fruits........and the leaves are for the healing of the nations. I'm telling you we are wasting our treasures in heaven for pleasure here on Earth and James says exactly that. I see we are saved from wrath but after we are saved we must work to obtain salvation in Christ Jesus and what if our works are more bad then good? there is speaking of those outside the gates as well. Why did Paul say strive toward the mark if just saying Jesus guarantees us eternal life there'd be no need to strive now would there or work, or obey,? What about we will be held accountable for every word we speak. This bible is a whole book that has to fit using every verse to be perfect knowledge to be the truth. I pray for that perfect knowledge and the truth
Thank you, may your lamp be full, and your talents be more than you were given. Many find teachers with pleasing words, feel good for a day, back in the world after walking out the door, and not truly repenting, thinking everything is hunky-dory. I don't believe sin goes dormant, there is a battle every day between the flesh and the Spirit in our conscience/spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit's work that empowers us to do our purpose. Like Paul said in Romans 7:18-19 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Agree, we must pray constantly to be accounted worthy, to have the strength to escape every sin, not caught up in the worldly cares, drunkenness, and temptations especially the big one, the hour of temptation that's coming.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
And the Spirit and the bride say ,Come. And let him that heareth say , Come . And let him that is athirst Come . And whosoever will let him take the water of life freely .
When I first read that verse I said YES I'm Coming .
Jesus said
Matthew 5.8
Blessed are the pure in heart : for they shall see God .
It thrills my heart when I read that , give me a pure heart oh God so I can see you .
I know that day will happen , and already I have seen him by faith , but not face to face .
I hope you and many others will meet me there some glorious day :)
