the name of God is purely the LORD. It is mentioned in the Bible almost 7000 times. The proof that is God's name is the apostles, when writing the new testament transliterated the name of God from Hebrew to Greek and use the name the LORD. Yahweh is a name of God not found in the kjb. God revealed his name first as the LORD God, then God Almighty, then the LORD(Jehovah), then Jesus Christ. The name of Jesus is above all names. According to Revelation 3:12, God will reveal a new name of his in heaven.
When I see people using the name Yashua instead of jesus, it shows me that they don't believe the Greek New Testament and did not even make it to Matthew 1:1 which says
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Matthew 1:21 says And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
The OT was written in Hebrew and translated to the Greek in the 3rd century B.C. (called the Septuagint) This was later translated to Latin and then to other languages around the time of the Reformation. In the Hebrew, God's name was YHWH (written this way). Because they did not want to sin by mispronouncing or disrespect of His name, they substituted the name Adonai in Hebrew, Kurios in Greek, (LORD) in English. So they all mean the same thing. The NT was written in Greek (and a bit of Aramaic) then translated to Latin and then to other languages around the time of the Reformation. Jesus' name in Hebrew was Yeshua, in Aramaic, Yeshu, in Greek Iesous, in Latin, Iesus, and English Jesus. So these name are all referring to our Savior, Jesus. or Iesous In other language translation, His name may be different than Jesus as well. Jesus is anglicized, so in His lifetime on earth, He was not called Jesus, but most likely Yeshua (Yashua, Yehoshua) or Iesous or Yeshu. The letter "J" was not a part of the alphabet in Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek, but was introduced in Latin to replace the "Y" sound, spelled with an "Ie".
I prefer to respect how people choose to call our Savior, depending on their language or preference. I am an English speaker, so I call Him Jesus most often, but if I was in a country that did not speak English, I would use their translation for His name, as I am using an English translation.
You are free to doubt people's salvation according to your own rules. I just don't wish to presume to assess another's true staus before God simply on which translation they use.
When the OT was written in Hebrew, they did not write the name YHWH our of hyper-respect, so the substituted LORD for YHWH. It doesn't matter to me if someone calls our God by the name LORD or YHWH or El Shaddai (God Almighty) or Jesus or Yashua or Christ or Messiah. Our God know who He is and what we call Him in different language translations. He knows our hearts and intentions behind our thoughts and words. He hears us when we call on Him in faith. He hears our prayers because we have been made alive to Him by the Spirit and can call Him Abba, Father as His children.
Hallelujah, Alleluia, or Praise the LORD. They all mean the same to Him. Have a Blessed evening, Luke. Hope to hear more from you.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him name which is above every name: that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth: and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
First of all, I believe the trinity. Yahweh or adonai or whatever nonsense that is, is not found in the king james bible. If people do not get the saviours name right, I doubt their salvation. Every person I know that uses the name yeshua does not believe in eternal life. The devil attacks the name of Jesus more so than any name and has put all these other false names out there to confuse people. God is not the author of confusion.

A missionary, in talking to the 'Hebrew' people, this would be appropriate - ie
Hebrew: haddon jesus hamashie ( ) = English - The LORD JESUS CHRIST
"Yeshua" (Heb) actually means "travel," so, I'm not sure 'how that is Even Appropriate' for 'calling' Jesus such a 'name'?
GRACE And Peace...
How are you? haven't heard from you in some time. I have been praying for you. Glad to have you back!
I keep thinking about you.
How can I pray for you?
