Bible Discussion Thread

    Richard, if you're replying to my comment about the Millennium, if you could reply to my specific comment, we could keep all this specific discussion in one place.

    The book of Isaiah doesn't mention a 1,000 year period of time anywhere. Specifically not in chapters 31 or 33. We must confirm these doctrines with specific verses and passages to prove they are legitimately Biblical doctrine. We must be clear and honest for all those Christians who are learning about the Bible and what it says and doesn't say.

    This doctrine of the Millennium is taught by many famous pastors and preachers, as well as many churches and seminaries. We must hold all of these men and institutions up to the Light of God's Word. We must prove their teachings to be Truth or false. There is no support anywhere in scripture for the concept of a Millennium period of time outside of Rev. 20:1-6. There are chapters and passages that are very vague that are used as evidence for lots of things, but upon closer inspection, they do not support the concepts they are being used to support.

    Webster Dictionary

    Millennium = 1000 years

    Revelation 20:2

    And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

    Revelation 20:3

    And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

    Revelation 20:4

    And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

    * Revelation 20:5

    But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

    Revelation 20:6

    Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

    Revelation 20:7

    And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, for

    Was that supposed to correct or contradict anything that I said? Because it did not in any way.

    I mentioned Millennium AND 1,000 years. Clearly I had that already.

    I also mentioned that Rev. 20:1-6 is the only place in scripture that mentions any 1,000 yr period of time. Yes, I forgot the 7th verse. Forgive me. My point still stands.

    You may not be very familiar with the Millennium doctrine, but it has about a handful of necessities for it to be legitimate within scripture. One of those is that the physical earth must remain throughout that 1,000 years. It does not. Isaiah 65:17-25 is often used to refute the 'No Millennium' position, but ironically the 1st verse there, verse 17 contradicts the Millennium immediately.

    "For, behold, I create a New Heaven and a New Earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to mind."

    Isa. 65:17

    That completely nullifies a Millennial time period upon the physical earth. There are plenty more verses in scripture, many within Revelation itself, that undeniably eliminate the possibility of a Millennium doctrine. Jesus comes, gathers His saints, destroys all wickedness (devil, beast, false prophet, sinners, etc.) as well as the earth and then rebuilds it and His "Heavenly ETERNAL reign" ensues. NOT a physical earthly 1,000 year reign upon the existing earth where the devil is released at the end to again torment all that have ALREADY endured until the end. Matthew 24:13; Rev. 14:12 Would it make any sense at all for God to have us endure and obey throughout this physical lifetime, only to have to endure another 1,000 years and be tested and tormented all over again by the devil?

    It would make ZERO sense and it would throw God's entire character into question - it would not follow scripture as a whole in the least.

    Happy to answer questions and address any other verses you may like to present.

    God bless.

    Where will the saints be, while Satan is imprisoned 1000 years? Why does Jesus take His saints to heaven in the "Rapture."

    2 Peter 3, explains this. Isaiah 34:4 explains this.

    After Armageddon, the Big Cleanup will commence. Why does it say Satan, etc will be locked up in hell one thousand literal years? Then Satan is released a short time to tempt those that survived the Tribulation. Later moved to the Lake of fire permanently?

    We'll be in Heaven while God is restoring Eden to the earth. Where else would we be? We are the Bride of Christ.

    It confuses the Christians when you say they go through the Tribulation. Why all the CAUGHT UP IN THE CLOUDS references?

    I had a very anointed Pastor in Tulsa. Years later after I moved to Austin, I found out he had turned completely Apostate. He's on YouTube teaching perverted subjects condoning homosexuality; teaching There Is No Hell. He lost his church. Half of his sheep followed him.

    Be careful what you teach. Why? God will judge us for lost sheep and lambs.
