How can I truly love my brother?

Lord help me to look at everyone through eyes of love. Love covers a multitude of transgressions.

Help me to look at everyone through eyes of mercy! The same eyes of mercy you look at me with.

Help me to love my brother and my enemy alike.

We may be spending eternity together! :-))

This is my sincere desire Lord.

1John is an amazing book of the Bible. Short read. Only 5 chapters. But I highly recommend it!

I cannot do that by myself . I'm quite cynical about human beings and I like to keep myself to myself as much as I can . I need Christ in me to show me how to do this . I need his spirit and example to guide me in my relations with others . I have to suppress my own sinful nature and let Jesus take the reigns and tell me how to do what he would do . Let him into your heart and let him take u over . He has helped me so much to b a nicer kinder softer hearted person . I'm none of those things naturally .

I see so much division in the church body. I don't understand that. People are divided over everything, every little thing. Who then can make it?

If we can't get along here and be unified, how will we spend eternity together?

That is why I pray to love my brother AND my enemy. (We are commanded to love our enemies too.) Is the love word used in both of these commands the same root word?

What are the things scripturally that we should be divided over? Besides the obvious stuff. Is it every little thing?

I just feel such a deep despair over this right now and it's grieving my spirit. Why are we so divided? Does this grieve the heart of God?

Are there scriptures about this? Why do we have so many different denominations? Does that grieve the heart of God?

Take comfort Donna , God knows our hearts . We can all make mistakes and get things wrong and we don't u understand everything immediately , don't let it upset u too much , God knows how to keep us all close to Him . That's a good thing about us all being different , we learn from each other , that's why we all need to listen to each other and all air our beliefs , we bring each other closer to God by talking about our own beliefs and experiences . Don't fret about it , God knows how to keep us all with Him , in this life and in the world to come . B joyfully in Him .

I am not directing this at anyone. Just wish to clarify that. It's just what's on my heart right now. Globally. It's more about why we have so many denominations.
