So much lately, I'm hearing this false doctrine where there are those telling themselves and others, that they can ignore God's Commandments.

    Matthew 19:17

"And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

Jesus tells us here point blank: if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments! Jesus and his apostles tell us over and over to keep the commandments and live accordingly. To believe, as a Christian you can disregard God's Commandments, you are deceiving yourself, and ignoring a multitude of bible scripture telling you otherwise.

    Here are God's Commandments

    1. I am the Lord your God. You shall not have strange gods before me. You shall not make to thyself any graven thing; nor the likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. You shall not adore them nor serve them.

    2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

    3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.

    4. Honor your father and your mother.

    5. You shall not kill.

    6. You shall not commit adultery.

    7. You shall not steal.

    8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

    9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.

    10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

As a Christ follower why would you NOT want to try keep holy and follow these commandments?

To disregard, you are telling Jesus that you don't love Him. John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Read and Believe!

In regards to 10 Commandments as put by Bro dan, I also have Gods 10 Commandments from my KJV and they differ quite significantly. I do know from Scripture Daniel 7:25- And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The Catholic Church system has changed Gods Law by excluding Gods 2nd Commandment, changing the 4th Commandment (Worshipping on Sunday) and cutting the 10th Commandment into two.

Here are Gods 10 Commandments from my KJV.

    Exodus

And God spake all these words, saying,

1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

3 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

4 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

    6 Thou shalt not kill.

7 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    8 Thou shalt not steal.

9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

As a Christ follower why would you NOT want to try keep holy and follow these commandments?

To disregard, you are telling Jesus that you don't love Him. John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    Dear Charrisse,

Thank you for listing the Commandments in the proper order per the KJV. I'm sorry, I did not list them in the proper order, and in an abbreviated fashion, but hopefully included the entire scope in the list.

I agree, we as Christ followers, are tasked by Jesus/God to try our best to follow His Commandments. There is overwhelming bible scripture confirming this requirement.

One of the most powerful scriptures in the entire bible; John 14:15 Here, Jesus tells us point blank, if we love him To keep His Commandments!!! This makes it easy for Jesus to quickly seperate His Sheep from the rest of the herd.

    God Bless.

That is correct dear Brother for God is the Seal of the Sabbath the 4th commandment to keep the Sabbath Holy a day of rest with God...If you look at the book of revelations you will see how important it is to keep the Sabbath Saturday.

For nothing defiled will enter the Kingdom of Heaven and the children of God that keep the Sabbath will sing the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb REV 15.3

REV 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints here are those who keep the commandments of God and the Faith of Yeshua.

    Our Christ name is Yeshua.

REV 21:3 Behold the Tabernacle of God is with men and he will dwell with them and they shall be his people God himself will be with them and be their God.

So you are a very bless child of God for the Laws of God are written on your heart... God bless you

As a fifteen year old I used to go to church , I won't say which denomination , in Sunday school one day , our teacher was talking to me and she get her purse , pulled out a ten dollar bill and said to me , very seriously : oh gosh ! When I got home last week I noticed that I hadn't paid my tithe ! I was horrified ! Imagine if I had died without paying it ! I would have gone straight to hell ! She believed that . Even as a fifteen year old I understood that that is not what God is about . He doesn't want fearful slaves . He wants our hearts , if we give Him them He will teach us His ways and show us what to do in any given situation , that's what Jesus did , he gave us the perfect example to show us how God wants us to behave . Like Jesus . It's that simple .

I don't believe we should ignore God's commandment , I believe that obeying them ( which is impossible , if u live for a long time , the longer I live the more sins I stack up ) doesn't make us righteous in His sight . We can't obey them all and under the law there is no forgiveness for disobeying them . Forgiveness comes in Christ , he is our righteousness , he and only he lived a totally sinless life . None of us r able to do that so we cannot keep the law perfectly . We r guilty under the law and deserving of death but in Christ and because of what he did for us we r clean and our lives r hid in him . We will b revealed to the world in our new form when Christ returns and changes our mortal bodies and makes us immortal like he is now . Behold , I make all things new . That means us too .

    Good Morning, Bro Dan

I agree completely! It is true that, by God's mercy, we have been given grace that brings us salvation through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. This grace releases us from attempting to gain salvation on our own merits though striving to keep all of the law

Being under grace, we have forgiveness of sin, justification before God according to the perfect keeping of the law by Jesus, which gives us His righteousness instead of our faulty, fallen attempts to be righteous by keeping the law, which we cannot succeed at doing by our free will. Grace brings regeneration of our deadness to God and we truly become a new creation in Christ, with a newly regenerated spirit that desires to do God's will. This reborn spirit within us is now the dwelling place of God's Spirit which is our Helper and Power to live God's way.

This grace does not abolish the law. Both Jesus and Paul have said so. See Matt. 5:17-20, Grace just means that we do cannot expect that keeping the Law will save us, because of the weakness of our fallen flesh, even if we keep all of the law, it does not save us. But because of grace, we now have power to obey the commandments of Jesus - love God and - love others - which include all of the commandments of the law and then some. Jesus said, If you love me you will keep My commandments. So, as you said, as believers we should want to obey the 10 commandments.

My thoughts also my heart, "Why would I want to do what the 10 commandments forbid?" These sins should be hated by me and I should love what is good and right as determined by God.

I agree that those who simply state that we do not need to obey the law because we are under grace without further explanation are simply encouraging weak and new believers to freely since they now say "I am free to do this because I am under grace, not the law." This thinking and these actions are not a correct interpretation of what being under grace means.

    See Romans 6:1-15; 3:19-22; 4:5-6; 23-25
