I'm feeling farther and farther away from the Lord. I don't know how else to explain it, but Im not having any desire to read His Word or to walk in the Spirit. It feels like I'm giving up, but at the same time I don't want to, I know what God has done for me, I know how He sent His Son to die on the cross for me, but my life isn't showing I know this.

I'm asking for your prayers that I would get back to serving the Lord whole heartedly, seeking after Him in all things. Please pray that no matter what circumstance I'm in, that I'd look to Him for guidance and strength.

Please also pray for my family. My dad has been acting very strange recently, getting very angry at little things. It's affecting our family in a very bad way and I think it's drawing us away from the Lord. Please pray that we would put our focus where it needs to be.

I can't thank you enough for your prayers.

Joleen please I'm begging you just hold on to the Lord with all your might and don't let go!

You're being sifted! Satan desires to have you. I can testify to you that he will destroy you and your family if you give up. Jesus will be there to refresh and restore you at the end of this trial. Just PLEASE, don't let go! Do your best to read your Bible. Stay in church. Stay on your knees. I will put you on my prayer wall at home. I'm praying for your family. For your dad. He's discouraged. Try to encourage him and don't take it personal when he lashes out. Just pray!

31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Dear Joleen, I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. It must feel awful to be in this spiritual doldrums day in and day out. Please remember that Jesus said He will never leave us nor forsake us. So, believe that He is with You now. Also He said that God is faithful even when we are faithless. So, remember to trust in His faithfulness. He also said that He came to bid up the brokenhearted. So, give your heart over to Him for repair. He also said that God chooses those who are His. So, rest in the knowledge that God has chosen you for Himself. He also said, draw near to God and He will draw near to you. So carve out time to meet with Him without distractions (even if it is five minutes) and enjoy His Presence near.

I will pray for you today. Dear Lord Jesus, we lift up Joleen to you today. She is You is feeling distant from You and her interest in growing in You is low at this time. Spark Your fire in her through the Holy Spirit to empower her to seek You and call on You for help and comfort. Fill her with the oil of Your joy. Draw her to call on You in prayer. Satisfy her with truth from Your Word. Strengthen her faith and lead her in her walk of faith. Lord Jesus, we affirm that Joleen belongs to You and that Your love has set her free from sin and unbelief. Help her to walk by the Holy spirit who lives within her. Lift up her spirit to praise You and have a thankful heart for all You have done for her. We are so glad she is Your child and a sister in You. Bless her richly today. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you Gigi for your kind words and for your prayer. God has been so merciful to me, while I haven't been serving him with all my heart. He is still there, and I don't deserve that. Thank you for reminding me of His faithfulness and His love. I'm going to draw near to Him

Dear Joleen, have you been saved?

"As it is written, 'There is none righteous, no, not one.'" ( Romans 3:10)

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." ( Romans 3:23)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." ( Romans 6:23)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." ( Romans 5:8)

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." ( Romans 10:13)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.- Romans 10:9-13

If you have been saved...we do not walk by sight--emotions--but by faith. In other words, whether you feel God's presence or not, walk on in Him, pray, read your Bible, be a witness to others, deny yourself and lean not unto your own understanding or feelings.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

    God bless you!

Thank you for sharing this. I've been saved for almost two years now, and I've been struggling a lot with my flesh. I've been walking by my sight instead of faith. It doesn't matter what I'm feeling because feelings change, but God remains the same and His Word is always true. May I lean on God instead of my feelings.

Thank you for sharing these verses, it was very comforting. There is hope because of God, and we're not forsaken. I have to keep working to overcome my flesh, to rely completely on God.
